No matter where you want to go in your career, you can get there from here!Position Title Strength and Conditioning Coach FLSA Non-Exempt FT/PT Part Time Hours Per Week 20-25 hours weekly Work Schedule Variable Position Salary Range $25 hourly SummaryThe Howard Community College Strength and Conditioning Coach is responsible for establishing a strength and conditioning program for all sports. The strength and conditioning coach plays an integral role in the performance of our sports programs and will be held to a high standard as it pertains to the execution of job specific tasks. The strength and conditioning coach will be goal oriented and assist each program in reducing non-contact injuries, measuring and improving performance as well as mentorship that will contribute towards team camaraderie. The strength and conditioning coach will consult with team coaches to develop pre-season, in-season and post season development plans that follow scientific principles. The strength and conditioning coach will meet regularly with athletic trainers to carry out return to play protocols as need be. The Strength and Conditioning coach will maintain a clean working space that is safe and effective. The strength and Conditioning coach will consult with the manager of fitness and recreation regularly on new concepts and ideas.Essential Role ResponsibilitiesDesign and facilitate yearlong strength and conditioning training programs for all 13 sports programs at Howard Community College. Programs must be evidence based with a progression.Work in partnership with the athletic training staff to implement any return to play protocol deemed necessary.Develop a collaborative relationship with all sports coaches, trainers and administrative staff.Develop policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning program in accordance with the NSCA Strength and Conditioning Professional Standards Guidelines.Implement a performance monitoring system to track athletes' readiness to perform and any profiling deemed necessary for the specific needs of the sport.Conduct a needs analysis for each team in conjunction with the sports coaches and the athletic trainer.Develop a preseason, in season and out of season schedule for all sports teamsLog attendance.Maintain a safe and effective training environment.Minimum Education Required Bachelor's degree Experience RequiredBS in Sports Science, Kinesiology or any related fieldA current certificate in Strength and Conditioning (A CSCS is preferred)Current CPR/AED Certification.Strong working knowledge of lifting technique and lifting skill developmentExperience in program design.Strong motivatorStrong organization skillsBasic Speed and Agility knowledgeMinimum and Preferred Qualifications Physical Demand Summary Division Athletic & Fitness Center Department Athletic & Fitness CenterPosting Detail InformationPosting Number NB281P Number of Vacancies 1 Best Consideration Date Job Open Date 05/05/2026 Job Close Date Continuous Recruitment?
