Role Description This is a full-time on-site role located in Janesville, WI, for an Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer. The I&C Engineer will design, program, and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems that are essential for SHINE’s fusion technology and operational processes. Responsibilities include developing PLC and HMI code, integrating advanced sensors, performing control system tests, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system functionality. The role involves analyzing system performance, creating documentation, and adhering to safety and quality standards in compliance with regulatory requirements. Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI design, and configuring control systemsKnowledge in instrumentation, sensor integration, and process automationAbility to analyze and troubleshoot control systems and instrumentationStrong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and signal processingExperience with safety standards and regulatory compliance in industrial settingsExcellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and technical writing skillsEffective communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related fieldFamiliarity with nuclear or fusion technology is a plusPrior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is beneficial
