Our Approach.\nJob Summary:\nThe Senior Electrical Engineer is a position within FORTNA’s Electrical Engineering team responsible for directing the design and documentation of electrical controls deliverables of FORTNA’s Material Handling Systems. The ideal candidate has significant experience and background in Electrical Engineering / design and is experienced and/or capable of providing leadership and direction to the Electrical Engineering project team during project implementation. Leadership tasks shall be aligned with FORTNA’s Integrated Design Methodology to ensure successful project implementation. This role requires design tasks direction utilizing standard design tools to provide high quality electrical designs in support of Clients’ needs.\nResponsibilities:\nLeading, directing, delivering, and supporting multiple projects through the detail design and implementation phase.\nDirecting project teams and support resources during development of RFP/Supplier Selection, detailed electrical design packages, equipment procurement activities, installation drawing packages, and support of installation contractors, Project Manager, and Site Manager with installation efforts\nProviding input and influencing Description of Operation (DOO) & Functional Specification Documentation (FSD) to ensure documents align with Electrical Engineering implementation plans\nContributing electrical drawings, BOMs, and design content that meet the project requirements and customer expectations.\nIdentifying project meetings cadence and resource requirements:\nDeveloping Electrical Engineering work plan and resource requirements to ensure successful project milestone achievements\nEnsuring deliverables meets Drawing Quality Control (DQC) requirements:\nElectrical device layout package\nControl panel fabrication package\nElectrical installation package\nAs Built documentation\nLeading electrical prototype efforts for complex solutions, including development of prototyping plan and communication of scope\nConducting site visits to assist with installation and commissioning support activities\nAttending Client meetings as required\nSupporting development of lessons learned document\nUtilizing AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical for drawings\nProactively seeking work to maintain project utilization\nFollowing current design practices for material handling systems\nAdhering to all FORTNA and department standards\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:\nConveyor control process experience (photoeyes, solenoids, variable frequency drive, line scanner, print and apply application)\nKnowledge of and ability to work with and manage multiple suppliers\nAbility to work effectively on a team and support high levels of performance\nStrong management and advanced collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal communication)\nExtensive experience working with MS Project and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\nExperience in standard design of relevant material handling equipment for position\nProficient in the use of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical for electrical design\nAbility to self-motivate\nStrong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills\nAbility to travel nationally and internationally in support of our projects\nAbility to perform essential functions of the job\nEducation and Experience:\nElectrical Engineering Bachelors degree (or similar engineering program) from an accredited college with 7-10 years of relevant experience, or 2-year degree from an accredited college with 10+ years of relevant experience\nOther Qualifications Desired:\nExperience managing Engineering projects requiring collaboration between multiple Engineering work streams\nExperience managing and directing Engineering support resources to achieve project milestones\nUL, NEC, NFPA, OSHA design requirements\n480VAC motor control panel design experience\nStrong comprehension of Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet IP, network design and requirements\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to walk, kneel, crouch and balance frequently.\nAbility to climb, ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps, etc., using feet, legs and/or hands and arms frequently.\nAbility to lift, push or pull up to 75lbs occasionally.\nAbility to sit/stand frequently for long and/or intermittent periods of time.\nTime spent between general office environment (with normal sitting, standing and minimal, nominal lifting) and active construction site visits.\nTime spent on active job sites includes subject to noise, being in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical power and control systems, and high places.\nPersonal Protective Equipment required at active job sites.\nThe base salary range for this role is $87,600 to $131,300. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance. This is a remote position.
