Engineer will maintains, test and repair electrical/electronic, and components of Perimeter Security Systems. The position applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation.\nEssential Functions\nDesigns AB software and graphic interfaces for each project\nOversees light manufacturing and in house testing teams along with field commissioning\nConfigures systems to integrate with a variety of customer operating systems\nHas the ability to train customers on the functions of the systems and troubleshooting techniques\nTroubleshoots and repairs mechanical, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, capacitors, power supplies, switching, relay inputs/outputs, etc.\nPlans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.\nInstalls, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.\nAdvises facility maintenance personnel of operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.\nInforms appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and if any inherent dangers involved.\nMaintains company-required performance and maintenance records for site inspections.\nPerforms preventive maintenance functions as directed.\nAssists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.\nCompetencies\nTechnical Capacity.\nProblem Solving/Analysis.\nDecision Making.\nLearning Orientation.\nTeamwork Orientation.\nWork Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently performing work within a secured perimeter of a correctional facility. Interaction with inmates in minimal and security officers perform escorting duties.\nPhysical Demands The physical demands require the employee to work within a mile secured perimeter. This includes hauling tools, equipment and material to various points along the perimeter to fix various components of the physical fence structure or electrical components.\nThis position is somewhat active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing when in the field.\nPosition Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.
