This includes installing PC boards, peripherals, components, and cabling into chassis according to engineering drawings, CTO files, and production work instructions. The position ensures all products meet strict quality requirements, support on-time production schedules, and comply with safety and regulatory standards (ISO, ESD, 5S).\r\nResponsibilities:\r\nPerform mechanical, subassembly, and complex chassis assembly tasks independently following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and OEM/CTO files.\r\nRead and follow engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure consistency and accuracy.\r\nVerify materials, part numbers, and quantities prior to assembly to prevent errors.\r\nUtilize hand tools, power tools, and torque equipment proficiently to assemble systems according to specifications.\r\nPerform visual and hardware quality inspections before, during, and after assembly to validate workmanship.\r\nConduct power-on & necessary testing to ensure products meet required operational specifications and standards.\r\nPerform basic rework (component replacement, cable routing corrections, alignment adjustments) and hardware upgrades/modifications based on Engineering Change Orders (ECOM) or customer requests.\r\nAccurate record assembly status, Work in Progress (WIP) updates, and non-conformance information in the\r\nManufacturing Execution System (MES).\r\nStrict adherence to ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) procedures, safety rules, 5S workplace practices, and ISO procedures.\r\nIdentify process abnormalities or potential issues and escalate them to team leaders / supervisors; support initiatives to improve assembly quality and efficiency.\r\nCoordinate with team members, Production Engineering (PE) teams, and management to address assembly issues and meet quality targets.Qualifications:\r\nHigh school diploma or GED in a technical/scientific field required; college education preferred.\r\nMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience in complex computer hardware assembly or a related manufacturing environment.\r\nRelevant certifications or training in product assembly or computer-related fields; experience with electronics or PCBA assembly is a plus.\r\nProficient in using basic mechanical assembly tools, including hand tools, power drivers, and torque drivers.\r\nAbility to read and follow detailed technical instructions, SOPs, and BOMs.\r\nStrong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy.\r\nAnalytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.\r\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\r\nStrong multitasking and time management skills to handle changing production schedules.\r\nAbility to stand, walk, sit, kneel, and reach with hands and arms regularly.\r\nCapability to lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 35 lbs.; team assistance required for heavier items.\r\nMust wear back support belt for tasks involving lifting over 35 lbs.\r\nAbility to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\r\nWillingness to travel and provide offsite support when required.Benefits :\r\nCompetitive salary dependent on experience (DOE)\r\nWinning culture with a friendly, team-oriented environment!\r\nGenerous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life insurance.\r\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\r\n401(k) with company match\r\nEducation & personal development reimbursement program\r\nGenerous vacation and paid holidays package\r\nCompany events, and lunches\r\nReferral BonusAbout Advantech\r\nFounded in 1983, Advantech is a leader in providing trusted innovative embedded and automation products and solutions.
