In this role, you will work directly with students to facilitate engaging programs that promote learning, growth, and community involvement. Your contributions will be vital in shaping a positive environment for young people.\nResponsibilities\nProvide a warm, caring environment where children are safe and have fun.\nPromote character values by demonstrating and encouraging acceptance of the values of honesty, respect, caring, and responsibility.\nEncourage children to develop an awareness of human diversity, to appreciate and accept the differences in others.\nIncrease self-confidence and independence by strengthening leadership skills through teamwork activities.\nBe a positive adult staff person who models the behavior expected from the children.\nStimulate an awareness of emotions and feelings, as well as being a positive role model to help the children understand appropriate and positive ways of expression.\nUse and teach effective conflict resolution.\nEncourage and support open communication with children and their parents.\nMust maintain and follow all safety guidelines to provide a secure environment\nMust complete 4 C requirements within 60 days of employment\nQualifications:\nMust have reliable transportation to and from job site; job sites include the Kishwaukee Family YMCA in Sycamore as well as school locations in Cortland, DeKalb, and Malta.\nInfant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification within 60 days of job\nExperience Required:\nPreferred candidate will possess excellent organization skills, curriculum design, and effective written and oral communication skills.
