In this role, you will be responsible for transforming concepts into manufacturable designs by developing 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. Joining APT means becoming part of a team where collaboration drives success, innovation fuels progress, and excellence is the standard.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nDevelop Bills of Material (BOMs), customer and manufacturing drawings, and other related engineering documents.\nCreate 3D models for design, development and reengineering of products.\nProcess design and fabrication drawings for a wide range of products from tanks to material handling equipment.\nResearch, select and specify the correct power transmission method for the application.\nCoordinate all phases of mechanical engineering projects from concept, scope, development, written specifications, bid solicitations, design, manufacturing, equipment commissioning, and project closure.\nEvaluate equipment design to ensure it is safe, reliable, repairable and cost efficient.\nOptimize design for cost, quality and manufacturability.\nResearch and solve complex technical problems either independently or by conferring with internal colleagues.\nWork collaboratively within project teams consisting of clients, electrical and design process engineers, control system programmers and manufacturing to deliver a completed project to the customer.\nDevelop and maintain expertise in selected technical areas and act as a resource for others in the Department.\nPerform stress, strain, and deflection calculations on a variety of equipment designs.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent years of related experience.\nAbility to think strategically.\nProven track record of successful problem solving and design.\nStrong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.\nStrong critical thinking and attention to detail.\nAbility to multitask multiple projects.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nAbility to interact professionally with customers, co-workers and outside parties.\nTravel up to 5%.\nPreferred:\n3D CAD experience.\nFamiliarity with USDA and 3A guidelines for sanitary design and fabrication of dairy processing equipment.\nExperience using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation program software.\nExperience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems.\n\nCompensation and Benefits:\nSalary range $60,000 - $95,000\nThe salary range provided reflects the anticipated base compensation for this position. As a result, compensation for the successful candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range.
