Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations, providing exceptional patient service, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the medical office. This role requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in various medical software systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner. Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups. Handle incoming calls on multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette. Collect and verify patient information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Process medical collections and insurance verifications. Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Assist with documentation review and ensure proper coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT) for billing purposes. Provide administrative support including filing, typing, and managing health information management tasks. Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and patient services. Support the overall operation of the clinic by performing clerical duties as needed. Qualifications Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with medical coding and billing processes. Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes including Medicare. Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to assist diverse patient populations. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Experience with dental terminology and software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is a plus. Knowledge of office management practices and procedures is beneficial.
