PLUMBING/MECHANICAL INSPECTOR

The City of Woonsocket is looking for a Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector.Reporting to the Director of Planning & Development and the BuildingOfficial, the person in this position is responsible for the conformityof all pertinent ordinance and regulations related to all residentialand business installations, as well as the repair and alteration of allplumbing fixtures and plumbing mechanical systems completed in the Cityof Woonsocket. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, thefollowing: the review of all drawings and specifications of all plumbingapplications, the issuance of permits and complaints of all plumbingviolations. Inspections of all new and updated plumbing installations.Must have a high school diploma, or GED equivalent, along with five (5)years of prior experience as a plumber or plumbing contractor. Mustpossess a thorough knowledge of all plumbing-related ordinances andregulations. Must also possess a Rhode Island Master Plumbers, PipeFitter License, Master Mechanical License, Journeyman Contractors, andPlumbers License. Must be certified by as a Plumbing/MechanicalInspector by the State of Rhode Island?s Building Code StandardsCommittee. The person in this position is expected to maintain a his/herState certification through the duration of employment with the City ofWoonsocket.
