Then have the ability to translate these requirements into actionable design parameters and specifications that can be incorporated into the manufacturing process.\n\nYou have the ability to provide technical support to the design team during the product development process. You can offer insights and recommendations to optimize product designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and performance.\n\nYou will need to conduct feasibility studies to assess the technical and economic viability of proposed designs. Then evaluate factors such as material selection, manufacturing processes, and production costs to determine the feasibility of design concepts.\n\nAs our Applications Engineers you will collaborate with the design team to develop prototypes and proof-of-concept models. Then oversee prototype testing, evaluate performance, and provide feedback for design refinement.\n\nYou will be happy to coordinate testing and validation activities to ensure that products meet performance specifications and regulatory requirements. This will help ensure that all stakeholders have the knowledge and skills necessary to support successful product development and manufacturing.\n\nTo be successful in this role, you will need:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.\n1-2 years’ design engineering experience required\nIn-depth knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM software or similar 3D CAD software.\n1 year experience of thermal and structural FEA software preferred\nExperience in component design.\nExperience working in manufacturing set up.\nKnowledge of various manufacturing techniques and practices.\nKnowledge of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and engineering design practices, welding methods, basic metallurgy.\nStrong communication and organizational skills with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.\nProven experience in implementing processes in collaboration with cross functional teams.\nProven ability to resolve problems independently and take appropriate action in a timely manner.\nKnowledge of relevant industry standards (ASME BPE, USP VI, FDA, PED (EU), cGMP, BPOG) is a significant plus.\nWorking conditions are in an office and warehouse/assembly environment with regular use of phone and computer for email and communication media.\nExpected to participate in laboratory needs and support special production needs\nCandidate must be able to travel on occasion (10-20%) to visit and assess vendors and visit other Watson-Marlow group companies as required.\n\nAs a growing and ambitious organization with a presence in over 60 global locations and across multiple markets, we can offer you the working environment and support needed to be successful.
