Assemble various boat components, including hulls, decks, cabins, bulkheads, and other structural elements.\nInstallation and Fitment: Ensure proper alignment and fitting of components, including using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to achieve precise tolerances.\nQuality Control: Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify defects, inaccuracies, or deviations from specifications. Address any issues promptly and collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain high-quality standards.\nSafety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize workplace accidents and maintain a safe working environment. Provide support assistance and Training for colleagues when required.\nTool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for assembly tools, equipment, and machinery. Report any malfunctions or the need for repairs to the appropriate department and maintain a clean and organized work environment.\nTime Management: Complete assigned tasks within specified time frames to meet production schedules and deadlines.\nContinuous Improvement: Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, suggesting ideas for increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing the overall boat assembly process.\nProblem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the assembly process, implementing appropriate solutions to maintain production schedules.\nAdherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety guidelines, and quality standards to produce boats that meet legal and customer requirements.\nDocumentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, inspections, and any modifications made during production.\nDiversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.\nRequired Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1+ years of related experience and/or\ntraining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nBasic computer knowledge\nAbility to read/hear, interpret and/or understand instructions given verbally or written and exchange\naccurate information with others.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProactive team player who is a self-starter with constant attention to improvement.\nStrong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.\nGood problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges. • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.\nStrong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with other team members. • Physical dexterity and the ability to perform tasks that may involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.\nMust have basic reading comprehension and writing skills, be able to work from verbal and written instructions, be capable of working with computer terminals and be able to complete routine paperwork.\nAbility to remain extremely focused and organized with a high-attention to detail / high degree of accuracy.\nAble to work with multiple priorities and people.\nThis role will require a high level of energy, creative thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with Materials Resources Planning (MRP) software and systems\nMarine experience preferred but not required\nFamiliarity with modern warehousing practices and method\nWorking Conditions:\nShop floor working environment.\nShop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.\nFrequent exposure to high-temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.\nNoise level is moderate with intervals of spikes\nRequired to wear safety glasses, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.\nFrequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals. •\nAbility to walk or stand for extended periods of times.\nAbility to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.\nVision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.\nShifts:\nTypically, this position works a 4 – 10 hr a day work week.\nOvertime may be required based on scheduling needs. Boston Whaler reserves the right to adjust shifts and work times as business needs evolve.\nAn hourly premium shift differential is available for employees working night shift.\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.\nThe anticipated pay range for this position is $17.00 to $25.85 hourly. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.\nAt Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role.
