Tax ManagerLocation: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, or High Point, NCEmployment Type: Full-Time, HybridPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced CPA Tax Manager to join a growing public accounting firm serving clients throughout the Triad region, including Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point. This role is responsible for managing tax engagements, reviewing complex tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and leading staff development initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strong technical tax professional with leadership experience in a public accounting environment.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee multiple tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, trusts, and nonprofit organizationsReview complex federal and state tax returns for accuracy, compliance, and planning opportunitiesConduct tax research and provide guidance on complex tax issues and changing tax regulationsDevelop and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted advisorProvide proactive tax planning and consulting services to clients across various industriesSupervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and senior accountantsManage engagement budgets, timelines, and workflow to ensure deadlines are metCoordinate and communicate with firm leadership regarding client needs and project statusIdentify opportunities for additional advisory and consulting servicesAssist with business development efforts, networking, and client retention initiativesMaintain knowledge of current tax laws, accounting standards, and industry trendsEnsure compliance with firm policies, quality standards, and professional ethicsQualifications & Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredActive CPA license required5+ years of public accounting tax experience requiredPrior experience supervising staff and managing client engagements preferredStrong technical knowledge of federal and state tax compliance and planningExperience with partnerships, pass-through entities, and closely held businesses preferredProficiency with tax preparation and research softwareExcellent communication, leadership, and client service skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and project management abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary plus performance bonus opportunitiesHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchPaid time off and holidaysFlexible/hybrid work optionsCareer advancement and leadership development opportunities
