By blending people-centric leadership with disciplined operational strategies and purpose-driven growth, Barry-Wehmiller has become a $3 billion organization with nearly 12,000 team members united by a common belief: to use the power of business to build a better world.\n\nJob Description:\nThese positions will fit and assemble mechanical and/or electrical components according to prints or sketches, and construct high-speed, precision machine equipment.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nRead and analyze assembly and electrical prints/bills of material and order acknowledgment documentation to plan machine-building operations.\nFit and assemble components according to specifications using proper tools and verifying conformance of parts.\nAssemble, set up, and may operate machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance.\nMay form and fasten pneumatic and hydraulic lines, fixtures, and attachments required to service machine with air and oil.\nMay install wiring, electrical components, and panel building to specifications.\nMay debug assemblies and machines by identifying and correcting problems affecting proper operation.\nIdentify and communicate with project team regarding build issues and documentation.\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\nA technical degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or a related field preferred, or a high school diploma with a minimum of one year experience related to mechanical, HPL, and/or electrical assembly of industrial machinery.\nAbility to assemble both mechanical and electrical components according to prints and sketches.\nPossess the written, verbal, and interaction skills necessary to work both independently and cooperatively.\nPossess basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.\nPossess appropriate hand tools.\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent.\n18 years old at the time of hire to operate equipment\nCOMPETENCES:\nCustomer Focus – Building strong customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.\nInstills Trust – Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.\nDrives Results - Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.\nCommunicates Effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.\nOptimizes Work Processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.\nLEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY:\nThis position does not directly lead other team members.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nStand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move about frequently\nOccasional repetitive motion and grasping\nOccasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks\nLift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently\nTypically sits, grasps items or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer\nExposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection\nThis job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by team members within this classification.
