50$-55$/Hr\nAbout this Role\nThe Senior Database Migration Engineer will be responsible for end‑to‑end planning, preparation, execution, cutover, and post‑migration handover of Oracle, Exadata, and Microsoft SQL Server databases as part of a structured, wave‑based datacentre or platform migration program.\nThe role demands strong expertise in enterprise database platforms, automation‑driven migrations, governance‑led execution, and close coordination with application, middleware, and infrastructure teams in a regulated BFS environment.\nIn this Role, You Will:\nPlanning & Assessment\nDevelop the overall database migration strategy, sequencing, and wave plan\nValidate source and target platform readiness for Exadata and SQL Server VM environments\nPerform database discovery, dependency mapping, and classification for migration sequencing\nConduct compatibility checks covering database versions, patch levels, character sets, storage layouts, and connectivity\nIdentify migration tooling and automation requirements, including AMA readiness\nPrepare migration workflows and cutover approaches aligned to Wells Fargo SOPs, runbooks, and governance\nMigration Preparation\nPerform pre‑migration technical checks for Oracle and SQL Server environments\nValidate and coordinate target environment readiness (DB servers, ASM/storage, clusters, network reachability, RBAC)\nPlan and schedule migration waves with application and infrastructure teams\nConfigure replication, data movement, or export/import workflows per approved approach\nEnsure automation jobs and scripts are tested and governance‑compliant\nStage scripts, job templates, and automation artifacts for migration execution\nMigration Execution\nBuild and configure databases on target platforms\nExecute database replication, data copy, or migration jobs using AMA or equivalent tools\nPerform backup of source databases prior to migration\nMonitor data transfer, replication health, and execution status\nResolve migration‑related errors impacting synchronization or readiness\nMaintain real‑time migration tracking and reporting\nCoordinate with storage, compute, and network teams during execution\nCutover Activities\nExecute controlled cutover during approved freeze windows\nPerform final sync, switchover, role transition, and database activation\nConduct post‑activation checks (listener, connectivity, instance health)\nValidate application‑to‑database connectivity\nUpdate migration trackers, wave dashboards, and cutover logs\nCoordinate with application teams for functional validation and acceptance\nPost‑Migration Handover & Decommissioning\nPerform post‑migration verification, including performance baseline and data consistency checks\nSupport hypercare and stabilization, addressing migration exceptions\nAssist with application reconnection and downstream validation\nDocument migration outcomes and final signoff\nExecute source shutdown, cleanup, and decommissioning per Wells Fargo‑approved process\nHandover updated configurations, documentation, and final migration reports to operations\nDesired Qualifications:\nDatabase Administrator (Oracle / Exadata / MS SQL)\n8–12+ years of experience as an Enterprise Database Administrator supporting Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server platforms in large‑scale environments\nStrong understanding of database architecture, design, and administration for:\nOracle (11g/12c/19c) including Exadata\nMicrosoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022) on VM platforms\nProven experience supporting datacenter or platform migration programs, including planning, execution, cutover, and post‑migration stabilization\nHands‑on expertise in:\nOracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN\nSQL Server Always On, clustering, backup/restore, and replication\nDatabase build, configuration, and hardening on target environments\nStrong experience performing pre‑migration readiness checks, including:\nVersion and patch compatibility\nCharacter set and collation validation\nStorage layout and capacity planning\nConnectivity and access validation\nSolid understanding of backup, recovery, and rollback strategies to support migration and cutover activities\nExperience executing and validating database replication, data copy, or export/import–based migration approaches\nStrong knowledge of HA/DR concepts, failover testing, and production cutover best practices\nAbility to perform post‑migration validation, including data consistency checks and performance baseline comparisons\nExperience working in regulated BFS environments with strict governance, audit, and change control requirements\nHands‑on exposure to automation‑driven database migration or
