HR & Office Operations Manager (Hybrid Role)

We’re hiring an HR & Office Operations Manager to help strengthen our internal systems, support our team, and bring clarity and structure to a business that is actively improving and evolving. This is a high-trust, high-impact role with real influence on how the company operates day to day. The Role This role sits at the intersection of: Human Resources Office & administrative operations Systems, documentation, and internal clarity You’ll work closely with leadership to turn ideas, goals, and conversations into organized systems that actually function. If you enjoy making other people’s jobs easier, bringing order to complexity, and creating calm through good systems—this role will feel rewarding. How & Where the Work Happens This is a hybrid role. While there are times when being in the office is important—especially during the busy season—we care far more about outcomes and reliability than physical location. In-season: roughly 50% in-office, with flexibility for focused work from home Winter: closer to 25% in-office, with more remote flexibility Schedule: full-time is ideal, but part-time or flexible schedules may be considered for the right person We support reasonable flexibility for family, kids, and life, as long as responsibilities are met We believe good people can work from home and get a ton done. This role is built on trust, clarity, and follow-through, not micromanagement. Core Responsibilities Human Resources & People Systems Build and run a clear, supportive HR function Coordinate hiring, onboarding, training documentation, and employee records Support performance feedback, reviews, and development pathways Help create a workplace that is inclusive, respectful, and improvement-oriented Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and leadership Benefits & Long-Term Team Investment Research and help implement health insurance and retirement benefits Partner with leadership to evaluate benefit options thoughtfully and sustainably Help communicate benefits clearly and transparently to the team Office & Operational Systems Run day-to-day office operations with structure and follow-through Organize documents, files, and internal information so things are findable and consistent Improve workflows, communication systems, and internal handoffs Help transform ideas and conversations into clear next steps and documented processes Working Style & Skills That Matter Here Success in this role requires someone who can: Be consistent and dependable, while also able to pivot when priorities change Work comfortably with some ambiguity—and then reduce ambiguity for others Take scattered information, conversations, and ideas and turn them into usable systems Create flow where there is friction Bring calm, structure, and momentum to a growing organization A phrase that fits this role well: Take some level of chaos and make it function and flow. Technical & Organizational Skills We’re looking for someone who is strong in: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, permissions & organization) Excel / Google Sheets at a practical, systems-oriented level Organizing documents, standards, and internal reference materials Comfort using modern tools like Google Gemini, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools to improve clarity and efficiency Creating systems that others can actually use and maintain You don’t need to be a tech wizard—but you do need to be thoughtful and systematic. Optional / Hybrid Growth Areas Depending on your interests and background, this role can flex to include: Light marketing or internal communications support Coordination support tied to horticulture or landscape design, if you bring relevant experience Helping connect office systems with field operations We value T-shaped people: strong in core responsibilities, curious beyond them.
