Come join our team!\n\nWe currently have an exciting opportunity in our Quality Assurance department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Engineer. The hours are M-F 6am – 2:45 pm.\n\nShift : ALL\n\nSecurity Clearance: No Clearance\n\n ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description)\n\nProvide staff support to the Quality Management System (QMS) / Quality Assurance (QA) Metrics/ Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Program Manager for the investigation, documentation and resolution of quality issues and initiatives. Support auditing of processes and products. Evaluate subcontractors’ QMS programs. Must be able to interpret standards, policies, procedures and agreed upon QMS Metrics to ensure the institutionalization of the QMS within the company and to ensure that QMS is continuously improving.\n\n POSITION DEMANDS\nTypically has a college degree or equivalent in Quality or a related Engineering field (preferred), plus minimum five (5) years’ experience in the field; or Quality Management System (or equivalent) program analytics experience (5 years).\nHave a good understanding of ISO standards, ship specifications, drawings, MIL-STD, CFRs, ABS Rules, etc. or be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of these requirements within 6 months to a year.\nKnowledge of statistical methods and problem-solving tools.\nStrong oral and written communication skills.\nHave strong computer word processing skills.\nCreating, evaluating, and reporting process/procedure performance analytics such as key performance indicators (KPI).\nConduct process audits.\nActively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.\n\n PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\n\nX\n\nCarrying\n\nX\n\nLifting\n\nX\n\nWalking\n\nX\n\nClimbing\n\nX\n\nPulling\n\nX\n\nMust be able to go on vessels\n\nX\n\nCrawling\n\nX\n\nSitting\n\nX\n\nVisual Requirements\n\nX\n\nCrouching\n\nX\n\nStanding\n\nX\n\nHearing\n\nX\n\nStooping\n\nX\n\nKneeling\n\nX\n\nTalking\n\nOther: No restrictions for going onboard ship or vessel to conduct process inspections.\n\nWORKING RELATIONSHIPS\n\nReports directly to the QMS/QA Metrics/CPI Program Manager. Position requires the incumbent to be resourceful, assertive, self-reliant and consistent, in dealing with internal and external customers on a wide range of issues. Considerable latitude in scheduling own activities.\n\n PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES\nActs as an audit team member and conducting audits of processes, procedures, and products.\nAssists with subcontractor evaluations\nAssists with audits and proposing and preparing updates to Quality Assurance Department procedures.\nAnalyzes processes as necessary and recommending improvements as appropriate for out-of-control process conditions, sporadic defects and non-conforming products.\nDevelop and manage excel performance databases with multiple processes and graphic displays of performance trends and KPI metrics. Power BI experience is a plus.\nAssists in the design of production, engineering, and materials processes, including data collection and appropriate statistical methodologies.\nMaintains an understanding of contractual quality requirements.\nProvides input, as appropriate, to business and production plans.\nAssist in Monitoring corrective action plans and milestone dates and ensures correction of internal control deficiencies.\nOther responsibilities and duties as assigned.\nACCOUNTABILITY\n\nInaccurate decisions, errors in work and information may put the fiscal position of the organization at risk and damage Company’s reputation.\n\n UNIQUE/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS\n\nRegular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job.
