Assists with Laboratory Outreach registrations as the need arises. ICD-10 Coding coordination and follow-up with physician offices. Performs other duties as assigned.\nEssential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:\n1. Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.\n2. Review and confirmation of all Outreach Laboratory requisitions for appropriate diagnosis coding.\n3. Enters appropriate ICD-10 diagnosis codes in the HIS.\n4. Coordinate contacts with physician offices for diagnosis and/or ICD-10 codes if not provided on the referring prescription.\n5. Documents phone conversation with physician’s office according to Medicare guidelines.\n6. Assists MLW Billing Liaison with patient/client follow-up.\n7. Consult with Client Service Rep on client ICD-9 coding education issues.\n8. Assists with Outreach Laboratory Registrations as the need arises.\n9. Performs other duties as assigned.\n10. Performs all other related duties as assigned.\nCore Competencies\nFlexibility Organized Adaptability Attention to Detail Stress Tolerance\nPhysical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access).
