We do this by empowering our employees, encouraging innovative solutions and recognizing great performance.Job DescriptionPrimary FunctionThe Mortgage Consultant is responsible originating a variety of different types of loans all focused on servicing our existing customers.Principal DutiesOriginate purchase and refinance loans by responding to company-provided leads via phone in a timely manner from: internet, direct mail campaigns, referrals, or other special marketing campaignsEngage with consumers, determine their needs, and offer the appropriate productsTake mortgage loan applications by phone and prepare effective loan proposalsObtain all necessary information to close the loan in a timely manner, including but not limited to credit reports, income verification, appraisals etc.Meet individual monthly sales goalsStay informed of developing trends in the mortgage industryMaintain compliance with the NewRez Code of ConductPerforms related duties as assigned by supervisor.Education And Experience RequirementsOrigination experience in the mortgage or banking industry required2+ years’ origination experienceActive NMLS licenseA solid understanding of appraisals, title reports and product guidelinesExperience utilizing persuasive communication skills, inside sales experience preferred.Knowledge, Skill and Ability RequirementsAbility to connect with borrowers, friendly demeanor, customer service orientedAbility to work efficiently and accurately with proven success in a fast-paced environmentCareful decision making, detail-orientedAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionProfessional communication skillsWhile this description is intended to be an accurate reflection of the position’s requirements, it in no way implies/states that these are the only job responsibilities.
