This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains. Enjoy the on-mountain working environment then the perks of your complimentary Monarch Mountain Season Pass. Instructors should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for skiing or snowboarding with our guests. Instructors are responsible for coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, continues to develop his or her own skills as an instructor, and maintains clientele through proactive service and sales efforts.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES Coach guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.\nWork as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.\nAssist with lesson line-ups as requested.\nDevelop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.\nFulfill department schedule and commitment levels to meet operational needs\nOther duties as assigned. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays)\nJOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum Age: 16\nLegal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.\nBackground check required.\nSki/ride at an intermediate level.\nAbility to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.\nMember of PSIA/AASI and certifications preferred.\nPrior instructor experience preferred.\nRequires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.\nJOB TYPE Winter Seasonal\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Compensation: Begins at $18 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service.\nBenefits: Monarch Season Pass and many more!
