(SSAI) is seeking an experienced Image Processing Scientist to operationalize satellite-based image processing systems through multi-sensor data.\r\n\r\nDevelop and implement Satellite Derived Bathymetry (SDB) products using various imagery sources, methods, and tools. Imagery will include commercial and Landsat data.\r\nConduct verification and field data collection for SDB products\r\nHarmonize and integrate multi-sensor satellite imagery with varying characteristics and resolutions\r\nPerform radiometric, atmospheric, spectral, and geometric image corrections and calibrations\r\nDesign and deploy large-scale end-to-end image processing workflows and automation solutions\r\nAnalyze workflow outputs and generate operational environmental monitoring products from satellite data\r\nResearch and develop innovative methods for satellite data applications and emerging missions\r\nApply expertise in electro-optical satellite systems, sensor characterization, and imagery validation procedures\r\nConduct commercial satellite data analysis while supporting industry and stakeholder requirements\r\nContribute to proposals, funding efforts, technical documentation, publications, and conference presentations\r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n\r\nPHD in technical field related to Remote Sensing.\r\nExperience over 25 years Knowledge\r\nIn-depth knowledge of remote sensing, physical geography/ecology, with image analysis/interpretation/processing and programming skills.\r\nWorking in a teamwork environment and being able to take direction/feedback from multiple people with effective communication of technical information, both written and oral is required.\r\nAbility to develop, implement, and optimize complex image processing algorithms.\r\nSkills in designing and deploying large-scale automated workflows across multiple computing environments.\r\nCompetency in machine learning and deep learning framework implementation.\r\nSkills in conducting independent research and developing innovative methodologies.\r\nAbility to write high-impact peer-reviewed publications and technical documentation.\r\nProficiency in developing compelling figures, graphics, and visualizations for proposals and publications.\r\nU.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.\r\n\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\n\r\nPrior experience preparing and presenting to a technical audience.\r\nProficiency in Python, R, and shell scripting for geospatial data analysis\r\n\r\nEEO/AA Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities\r\nPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to touch, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
