Director of Finance

The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine, newly owned and managed by EOS Hospitality, is seeking a Director of Finance to join their team of dedicated hospitality professionals.Job SummaryDirect finance/accounting team members to include hiring, training, performance evaluations, compensation recommendations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.Oversee the month-end close process and ensure timely preparation and review of P&L statements.Partner with the Regional Director of Finance to execute year-end closings and financial reporting.Prepare and assist in producing financial documents including cash flow statements, income statements, budgets, and forecasts.Conduct financial analysis and advise General Manager on business performance.Monitor and manage cash flow statements and projections.Oversee bank account management, including monthly reconciliations, payroll funding, payments, transfers, and disbursements.Maintain and review the General Ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.Ensure timely and accurate submission of sales, use, and occupancy tax returns and other required external reporting.Assist with implementation, training, and ongoing management of accounting software and systems.Serve as the lead trainer for new team members, including onboarding and system access setup.Collaborate with the Regional Director of Finance on annual budget preparation and financial forecasting.Develop, maintain, and enhance internal control procedures and finance department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Ensure payroll process compliance with federal and state regulations in collaboration with EOS Centralized Payroll.Safeguard all legal, treasury, and tax documentation while ensuring compliance with all statutory, fiscal, and governmental reporting requirements.Monitor adherence to debt and management agreement covenants.Coordinate property audits and respond to governmental and regulatory inquiries, including IRS matters.Provide leadership, direction, and professional development opportunities for finance team.Lead recurring finance meetings with property leadership and EOS Finance representatives.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.Model professionalism and maintain high standards of conduct and performance.Perform and oversee all accounting functions including AP/AR, journal entries, and General Ledger management when necessary.Execute additional accounting tasks and projects as assigned by EOS Finance or operational leadership.Ensure compliance with organizational policies including workplace safety, emergency procedures, security, anti-harassment, and workplace conduct standards.We are proud to offer competitive wellness options and perks for both Part Time and Full Time employees;Company-funded local parkingEmployer-subsidized medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-funded $25K in complimentary life insurance and $1K/mo. in disabilityOptional Disability, Life and AD&D, Critical Illness, and Accident Insurance optionsAdditional Health & Wellness benefits including prescription and gym membership discountsGenerous Paid Time Off package including Employer Paid Leave plus immediate Paid Vacation accruals and Holiday PayFlexible and understanding work-life equalityFamily Matters Program of 3+ months paid parental leave for new parents401k employer match, up to 4% of salaryCompetitive wages with ongoing market analysis with annual performance evaluations and compensation adjustmentsDiscounted employee and immediate family hotel rates as low as $59 per night at EOS Hospitality portfolio locationsFood and Beverage discount of 50% Off at EOS Hospitality portfolio locationsDiscounted lodging rates from New England Inn & Resort Association partnersPathways for growth and professional development including training and tuition reimbursementIncentive opportunities for both hourly and managerial rolesSupportive, open workplace cultureCompany-funded Employee Assistance Program for life and mental health resourcesKey Skills & Experience Required4-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or relatedMinimum of 5 years working in a related accounting positionExperience in hospitality industry highly preferredPrior leadership/supervisory experience with demonstrated experience managing and mentoring staffAbility to manage multiple projects at a time, strong time management and organizational skillsAbility to build strong, highly collaborative relationshipsAdvanced in ExcelStrong analytical skills with attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsExpresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and passion for financeMust know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion.
