With a nationwide footprint and opportunities for growth across multiple locations and disciplines, SPL is a place where you can build a career while making a real-world impact.\n\nWe’re searching for a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our laboratory team in Midland, TX.\n\nIn this role, you’ll handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making. From logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to overseeing storage and distribution, your work ensures accuracy, efficiency, and integrity across the lab.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nReceive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff\nVerify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines\nAccurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system\nLabel, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner\nMaintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols\nPrepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required\nProvide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities\nMaintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in alignment with company standards and safety requirements\nComplete assigned tasks within established timelines while upholding accuracy, quality, and procedural standards\nPerform other duties as assigned, within the scope of the position and training provided\nRequirements:\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field preferred\nDemonstrated experience in data entry, administrative, clerical, laboratory support, or documentation-focused roles involving accurate record keeping and information management\nPrior experience working in a laboratory, sample handling, or other regulated, high-volume processing environment preferred\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive compensation\nMedical, dental, and vision coverage\n401(k) with company match\nEmployer-paid life, AD&D, and disability insurance\nPaid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays\nPaid parental leave\nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)\nTuition reimbursement and professional development support\n\nWork Schedule & Travel\n\nFull-time, onsite position following a standard Monday through Friday schedule\nFlexibility to work beyond standard hours, including evenings or weekends, as operational needs require\n\nOur Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion\n\nAt SPL, we believe that a diverse team is a strong team.
