Every effort has been made to identify theessential functions of this position. However, it in no way states orimplies that these are the only duties you will be required to perform.The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them fromthe position if the work is similar, related, or is an essentialfunction of the position.**I.ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS**Implement recommended changes as required.Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance withestablished policies.Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed.**II.PERSONNEL FUNCTIONS**Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmentpersonnel, as well as with other departments within the facility toassure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs ofthe residents.Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest andpositive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout thedepartment.**III.STAFF DEVELOPMENT**Participate in and assist in departmental studies and projects asassigned or that may become necessary.Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, in-service training,etc., as directed.**IV.DIETARY SERVICE**Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.Perform daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance withestablished policies and procedures.Clean work tables and equipment.Sweep and mop floors as directed.Bethesda Home**IV.DIETARY SERVICE, continued**Carry soiled utensils, etc., to wash area.Return clean utensils to proper storage areas.Wash and clean utensils as directed.Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardousequipment, supplies, etc.Set up meal trays, food carts, dining rooms, etc. as instructed.Assist cook with washing pots and pans.Obtain food supplies for next meal.Deliver food carts, trays etc., to designated areas.Serve food in dining room as directed.Remove food trays from carts, dining rooms, etc. and take todishwashing area.Prepare snacks, etc. as instructed.**V.SAFETY AND SANITATION**Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well aswith our established policies and procedures.Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.Follow established Infection Control and Standard Precautions policiesand procedures when performing daily tasks.Ensure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner byassuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained.Report all hazardous conditions/equipment to your supervisorimmediately.Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor on the shift inwhich they occur.Assist in maintaining food storage areas in a clean and properlyarranged manner at all times.Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.Wear protective clothing and equipment when handling infectious wasteand/or blood/body fluids.Follow established dress code.**VI.MISCELLANEOUS**Make only authorized food substitutions.Perform other tasks as assigned.Mennonit Bethesda Society, Inc. recommends COVID-19 and Influenzavaccinations for all employees.
