{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"e3a6bd12e6cea27c4d4d7705","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e3a6bd12e6cea27c4d4d7705","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/e3a6bd12e6cea27c4d4d7705","title":"CONTROLLER","description":"JOB SUMMARY\nUnder the direction of the Chief Executive Officers and the Administrative Manager, the Controller is responsible for communicating financial results and advice for multiple companies to the stakeholders by performing the following duties.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nCollaborate, where appropriate, with other accounting professionals (e.g., the Controller at Advantech Industries) to standardize accounting policies and procedures across companies with common ownership.\nEstablish and enforce effective financial controls for companies.\nProvides analysis and guidance regarding the financial positions of the companies and their prospective compliance with state and federal regulations.\nEnhance and strengthen the financial positions of companies through the gathering of knowledge and familiarity with the industries and competitive markets that each company participates in.\nReview the practices, records, and transactions of all General Ledger and subsidiary records to ensure their compliance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).\nDevelop and/or maintain policies and procedures such that inventories are accurately valued and comply with GAAP.\nPrepare journal entries for companies that are an integral part of the monthly financial closings.\nPrepare monthly financial statements for companies that include Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.\nPrepare analysis and interpret the monthly operating results and review these with stakeholders at a regularly scheduled monthly meeting.\nPrepare year end schedules of all financial accounts of the companies that will ensure complete, accurate, and timely preparation of annual financial statements and tax returns by companies’ external accounting firm.\nServe on the 401(k) Administration Committee and provide guidance on plan design, advisor and recordkeeper evaluation, and compliance with statutory and regulatory changes. Support the 401(k) Plan Administrator as needed.\nApply for grants that will help the financial position of the companies.\nPrepare financial forecasts for internal management as well as providing external auditing firm with details required to make estimated quarterly tax payments.\nAssist outside accounting firm in data collection for tax advice and return preparation.\nCoordinate annual 1099 preparation.\nPrepare and file periodic NYS sales tax returns for assigned companies.\nLead the annual audits for Worker’s Compensation and General Liability insurance.\nPromote and support the requirements and principles of the Precise Quality Management System and AS9100.\nComplete Census Bureau surveys.\nAssist in evaluating and purchasing Health and other Business insurances.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:\nHolds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments made around project outcomes.\nAbility to work well under pressure, to adhere to deadlines and the ability to be flexible.\nAbility to multi-task, triage workload in order to meet deadlines and needs of the stakeholders of the multiple companies.\nSolid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable/receivable principles.\nPosition requires proficiency in various financial software applications and the ability to learn new applications quickly.\nData entry skills along with proficiency in mathematics.\nExcellent written and oral communication skills.\nSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nBS/BA in Accounting/Finance or related field; MBA preferred; CPA a plus.\n10-15+ years Accounting/Financial experience, preferably in manufacturing or real estate.\nProven hands-on working experience as an Accounting Manager, Director, or Financial Controller.\nPrevious experience with accounting software packages. Experience with Epicor/Kinetics ERP, Quickbooks and ADP a plus.\nSolid interpersonal skills, ability to work independently as well as with all other employees and vendors.
