Will not provide sponsorshipOverviewReality capture translates physical environments into high-fidelity digital representations, enabling data-driven decisions across design, construction, and operations.As a Lead Reality Capture Specialist, you will own end-to-end 3D documentation efforts while serving as the primary on-site leader and client point of contact. You will lead field execution, oversee data quality, manage site coordination, and mentor team members. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient operations at assigned facilities, including scheduling, PPE compliance, and on-site personnel coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesLead project execution from pre-planning through final data deliveryServe as the primary point of contact for the client and facility representativesUnderstand project scope, objectives, site constraints, and safety requirementsPlan and manage facility scheduling, including site access, timelines, and team coordinationDefine and enforce PPE requirements and ensure compliance with all site safety standardsCoordinate who will be on-site, including internal team members, subcontractors, and client stakeholdersPrepare travel logistics and ensure team readiness (equipment, staffing, documentation)Lead client walkthroughs to confirm scope, access, risks, and execution strategyOversee and perform capture of scan, photo, and video data to meet scope and quality standardsEnsure proper data organization, documentation, and transfer for completeness and traceabilityOversee registration, QA/QC, and post-processing workflows; identify and resolve data gapsProvide clear direction to team members in the field and support their technical developmentTrain and mentor Associate and Specialist-level staff on field workflows, best practices, and safetyMaintain strong, professional client communication and proactively manage expectationsSuccess in This Role (First 90 Days)Independently lead field capture projects from kickoff through deliveryEstablish strong relationships as the trusted on-site lead with clients and facility stakeholdersExecute projects that meet or exceed quality, safety, and schedule expectationsEffectively manage team coordination, scheduling, and site logistics without disruptionIdentify risks early and implement solutions to maintain project successProvide hands-on training and elevate team performance and consistencyWhat You’ll GainLeadership experience managing field teams and client relationshipsOwnership of complex projects across diverse industries and environmentsAdvanced expertise in 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, and digital twin workflowsA growth path into senior technical leadership or program management rolesPosition RequirementsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction, Geomatics, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)3–6+ years of experience with reality capture, survey equipment (TLS or SLAM), or related fieldworkProven experience leading field operations or small teams preferredTravel75%+ travel requiredSkills and QualificationsStrong leadership and decision-making abilities in dynamic field environmentsDeep understanding of reality capture workflows, data quality standards, and QA/QC processesHighly organized with the ability to manage scheduling, logistics, and multiple prioritiesStrong knowledge of site safety practices and PPE enforcementComfortable working with large datasets and technical workflowsClear, professional communication with clients, field teams, and internal stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Office; experience with IVION and Prevu3D a plusFamiliarity with FARO Scene, Leica Cyclone, or similar tools; strong understanding of LiDAR and coordinate systemsBehavior and MindsetAccountable leader who takes ownership of project outcomesCustomer-focused with a strong, professional presence on-siteProactive problem-solver who anticipates challenges and acts earlyReliable, adaptable, and able to lead under changing site conditionsCommitted to mentoring others and building team capabilityWork EnvironmentFrequent travel to industrial and commercial client sitesHighly flexible and open to working a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and changing schedulesAbility to walk active job sites, navigate varying terrain, and lift/carry equipment (up to ~50 lbs)Responsibility for ensuring safe site operations, including PPE compliance and adherence to facility requirementsWillingness to work in varying weather and site conditions while maintaining safety and quality standards
