The Driver will perform transportation duties in a safe and professional manner, while providing first class customer service.\n\nEssential functions\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.\nTransport persons served to and from CSI/Co-op related outings or other events/activities. Assist ambulatory passengers as needed. Provide professional, courteous service.\nCoordinate outing schedules with management.\nOperate organization's vehicle in compliance with organizational, state and federal regulations.\nMaintain vehicle cleanliness, interior and exterior.\nMonitor vehicle maintenance and performance through regularly scheduled inspections and service repair. Report safety and maintenance concerns to supervisor.\nRecord mileage for all trips; maintain various vehicle logs as required.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nCompetencies\nCommunications skills: All drivers must be able to read and speak English well enough to understand road signs, prepare reports, and communicate with law enforcement officers and the public.\nStress Management: The ability to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and maintain self-control in the face of hostility or provocation. Remains calm under stress. Can effectively handle several problems or tasks at once. Controls his/her response when criticized, attacked or provoked. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.\nWork environment\nDrivers will work in an environment that is frequently exposed to varying weather conditions.\n\nPhysical demands\nAbility to drive long distances for extended periods of time.\nAbility to perform considerable reaching, stooping, and bending.\nHearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with patients.\nExposure to a variety of weather conditions.\nRequires standing and/or walking for extended periods of time\nMust be able to lift/move up to 50lbs, bend, maintain stationary position, move freely, operate equipment, ascend/descend freely, and position self to reach equipment above or below normal standing height\n\nTravel required\nDrivers are required to travel frequently between co-ops, meetings, conferences and other designated areas as assigned by immediate supervisor.\n\nRequired education and experience\nExcellent communication skills\nMust hold a currently valid driver's license and have an excellent driving record.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent and fluency in English required. Depending on assigned area, knowledge of Spanish would be helpful.\nSatisfactory completion of a company training program in passenger assistance techniques, sensitivity training, and map reading, or demonstrated competence based on previous employment experience\nKnowledge of state traffic laws.\nAbility to professionally and cooperatively work with staff, management, family members and general public.\n\nWork authorization/security clearance requirements\nDepartment of Homeland Security (DHS) regulation requires all employees—citizens, residents, and nonresidents—to complete Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
