The work includes the proficient application of finite element analysis tools for plate structures subjected to various structural, dynamic and thermal loading. The role will focus on individual analysis and design tasks as part of a collaborative team for large and complex projects. May act as a discipline lead for projects, managing internal and external resources as assigned.\n Essential Functions\nActively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.”\nRepresents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.”\nDevelops computer models from design drawings.\nDevelops broad knowledge and skills in computational analysis.\nApplies engineering first principles of statics, mechanics of materials, and dynamics to find engineering solutions for various types of steel and concrete structures.\nSupports design engineering efforts for various atmospheric, refrigerated and cryogenic storage structures to API and ASME codes/standards.\nEvaluates, selects and applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional projects with few complex features.\nCollaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.\nAssists in developing analysis reports, when required, which effectively communicate the analysis methods and results to internal and external clients.\nWorks on small projects or on portions of large projects.\nPerforms design calculations and analysis using appropriate systems and tools.\nChecks work for constructability, interferences, operational safety, and overall quality assurance.\nCoordinates tasks and work with entry level engineers, designers, or administrative staff.\nAssists in preparing and managing scope, budget and schedule for projects or assignments to include any discipline internal or external resources assigned to support their projects are within scope, budget and schedule.\nMaintains a sense of urgency and a positive attitude.\nPrepares portions of project documents.\nEdits specifications.\nPerforms research and investigations.\nReceives instruction on specific objectives.\nReceives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems, and possible solutions.\nReceives a thorough review of completed work for application of sound professional judgment.\nAssists with project manager, project Engineer, client, customer contacts, vendor and communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings.\nPerforms other related duties, as directed.\n Qualifications\nBS in Engineering required; MS degree preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.\n5+ years related engineering experience.\nAdvanced knowledge of strength of materials, stress analysis and structural engineering is required.\nDesign experience in API-620, API-650, API-653, and ASME Section VIII is strongly preferred.\nExperience with finite element analysis (FEA) of steel shell structure is required.
