This position will maintain and grow the AARP Montana state office's social media accounts. Additionally, the position will include community outreach/engagement opportunities, event planning, and advocacy-related activities. This remote paid internship has an anticipated start date of Spring 2026 and can continue through the end of the year with the potential for extension.ResponsibilitiesCreating fun, exciting, and engaging short videos and motion graphics for use on social mediaAssist in developing and sustaining a strong social media presence focused on relevant and timely messaging and information for members in MontanaDevelop and maintain a positive, two-way, interactive dialog on various social media channels to drive engagementsCreating and updating posts, profiles, and pages for Facebook and X (Twitter) through the Sprinklr marketing platform - posts to be scheduled to run several times per weekTracking the growth and impact of social media channels and suggesting action steps to increase influence, relevance, and growthPotentially attending selected events and taking photos/videos, and "live-posting" from those eventsAssisting with the development and execution of paid social media advertising campaigns designed to increase impact and relevance across social media channelsCreating content and posting to the Montana blog pages using an interface platform similar to WordPress QualificationsMust be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university, rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students, and must remain academically enrolled throughout the internshipMust have a passion for social media and be proficient in Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), and InstagramThe use of other social media/blog interface tools is a huge plusFluency in Microsoft Office programsProficient in using various technological tools, including cameras, microphones, lights, tablets, smartphones, and editing software, is a plusExcellent research and writing skills, with keen proofreading skillsUndergraduate or graduate studentAvailable to work 15-25 hours per week remotelyThe internship will require someone dependable, professional, efficient, able to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks, and handle working on deadlines, sometimes on short noticeAARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.Compensation and BenefitsThe hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates.
