We're looking for experienced candidates with a technical background and domain expertise.\r\nBascom Hunter provides solutions to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Aerospace markets across various disciplines. We provide products and services across four product lines: RF Systems, RF Products, Neuromorphic Processors and Photonics. This role will support the RF Products product line. Prior experience with the technology, application and markets of these products is desired but not required. Candidates will work at our O'Fallon, MO location. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.\r\nJob Duties\r\nPerform precision soldering and rework in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards or equivalent workmanship requirements.\r\nAssemble complex electronic and microelectronic assemblies, including installation of mechanical and electrical hardware using screws, fasteners, machined parts, feedthroughs, ground lugs, and other components.\r\nPerform detailed electrical assembly, including surface mount soldering of large and miniature components using microscopes, solder wires and wire harnesses, install connectors and feedthroughs, and rework QFN and BGA packages using solder paste and reflow equipment.\r\nSet up, operate, and support Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and associated tooling.\r\nLoad and verify SMT feeders, perform machine changeovers, replenish components, and ensure proper component placement according to production documentation.\r\nInspect SMT assemblies for component placement, solder quality, polarity, orientation, and workmanship using microscopes and other inspection equipment.\r\nAssist with troubleshooting SMT production issues, identify assembly defects, and perform touch-up or rework as required to meet quality standards.\r\nSupport first article builds, prototype assemblies, and low-volume/high-mix production while maintaining strict quality and documentation requirements.\r\nRead and interpret Bills of Material (BOMs), assembly drawings, schematics, work instructions, lot travelers, and verbal instructions to complete assemblies accurately.\r\nAccurately complete all required production, quality, and traceability documentation in compliance with company procedures.\r\nKit components using pick lists, Bills of Material, or assembly drawings.\r\nPerform physical inventory counts and maintain material accountability.\r\nMaintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe work environment.\r\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives and follow all quality, safety, and company procedures.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office products.\r\nProficient with soldering tools, microscopes, and electronic assembly equipment.\r\nWorking knowledge of SMT assembly processes, electronic component identification, PCB handling, and ESD procedures.\r\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.\r\nAbility to read and interpret assembly drawings, Bills of Material, and manufacturing documentation.\r\nU.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.\r\nWilling and able to support other manufacturing disciplines as needed.\r\nSelf-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.\r\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\n24 years of experience in electronic assembly within an SMT manufacturing environment.\r\nExperience operating or supporting SMT production equipment, including solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens.\r\nExperience performing SMT inspection, component rework, and troubleshooting of printed circuit board assemblies.\r\nIPC-A-610 Certification and/or IPC J-STD-001 Certification (current or previous certification preferred).\r\nExperience working in aerospace, defense, medical device, or other high-reliability electronics manufacturing environments.\r\nAll positions at Bascom Hunter are subject to background investigations.
