Is Clearance Required To Start?: No High school diploma or GED Interview Information: Interviews as soon as possible Job Description Seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic to support F/A-18 E/F Flight Controls repair, overhaul, structural modification, and maintenance activities. This role involves performing precision structural repairs and assembly on metallic and composite aircraft components while supporting military and commercial aircraft operations in a manufacturing and maintenance environment. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform structural repair, overhaul, and modification activities on F/A-18 E/F flight control components and aircraft structuresRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, process sheets, and technical instructionsIdentify and install aircraft fasteners including rivets, blind rivets, screws, hi-locks, bolts, and lock boltsRemove and reinstall access panels, fairings, and damaged fasteners without damaging surrounding structuresPerform close tolerance drilling, precision measuring, trimming, reaming, deburring, and assembly operations on metallic and composite structuresFabricate and assemble aircraft structural components using assembly jigs, repair equipment, and fixed toolingApply aircraft finishes including primer, paint, Alodine, sealants, and corrosion prevention treatmentsUtilize measuring equipment including micrometers, dial calipers, feeler gauges, bore gauges, grip gauges, and depth gaugesPerform safety wiring and cotter pin installationComplete aircraft maintenance documentation, technical logs, work packages, and zonal handovers accurately and within required timelinesRead and interpret Airworthiness Directives, Technical Directives, and Service BulletinsReport technical discrepancies, safety concerns, and production issues to leadershipMaintain clean and organized work areas while following safety and quality proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to on-time aircraft delivery Required Skills3+ years of Aircraft Mechanic experience in commercial aviation, defense, aerospace manufacturing, or related trade apprenticeshipExperience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specificationsAbility to perform close tolerance drilling within .003 and precision measurement within .003Experience working with metallic and composite aircraft structuresKnowledge of aircraft fasteners, installation/removal processes, and structural repair techniquesBasic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office SuiteStrong attention to detail, quality workmanship, and safety complianceAbility to lift and utilize tools, materials, and equipment within manufacturing environments Preferred SkillsExperience supporting military aircraft or fighter aircraft programsExperience with aircraft structural repairs and flight control systemsExperience utilizing assembly jigs, repair tooling, and precision measurement equipmentKnowledge of aircraft corrosion control, sealing, priming, and painting processesFamiliarity with aircraft maintenance documentation and technical directives Education / Experience High School Diploma or GED with typically 3+ years of related aircraft maintenance, structural repair, aerospace manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
