This role allows you to live anywhere in the United States and involves up to 90% travel worldwide, up to four months at a time, with travel expenses covered and per diem.\n\nSerco supports the US IMCOM Army Child & Youth Services (CYS) Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) by upgrading, maintaining, and providing support to Functional Technology Specialists (FTS), building directors, and staff on site.\n\nYou will work closely with a Mid‑Level Engineer, Project Lead, and Project Engineer to set up and configure the VMS, and analyze and resolve technical issues related to the system.\n\nIn this role, you will:\n\nSupport server hardware and software setup/installation and configuration of the VMS on site, following documented standards and prescribed sequences.\n\nConduct testing on the VMS.\n\nFollow specific instructions, assemble or construct standard equipment or parts, and service or repair simple instruments or equipment.\n\nEnsure cable management and terminate Cat 6 using the T568B color code standard.\n\nCheck electrical connections are properly connected, fixed, and secured.\n\nAnalyze and resolve technical issues related to VMS end‑points.\n\nConduct close‑out procedures, including service validation, test plan execution, system acceptance with the customer, and take photos of completed work.\n\nProvide on‑site training to the customer on the VMS.\n\nAct as the primary liaison for customers while at the garrison, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.\n\nEnsure the project stays on schedule.\n\nConduct administrative duties such as daily status reporting to the project lead, timekeeping, and expense reporting according to policies and procedures.\n\nLead and direct the work of others, mentoring and teaching skills to mid‑level technicians.\n\nFollow documented standard procedures to set up, install, and configure the VMS to establish best practices.\n\nGather and maintain engineering data records such as tests and drawings, verifying that test data meets acceptance criteria.\n\nAct as the primary liaison with the customer on‑site, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and service delivery.\n\nHave strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with technicians, team members, the customer, project lead, project engineer, and leadership.\n\nAdhere to safety standards and always follow OSHA and safety rules.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nTo be successful in this role, you will have:\n\nThe ability to travel up to 90% of the time, both CONUS and OCONUS, up to four months at a time.\n\nThe ability to obtain a passport within 60 days of hiring.\n\nThe ability to receive a favorable determination from the National Agency Check (NACI).\n\nU.S. citizenship required.\n\nThe ability to obtain access to all military installations and a Common Access Card (CAC).\n\nA valid driver’s license and clean driving record.\n\nBachelor’s degree in a related field.\n\nOr a high school diploma/GED with a minimum eight years of experience in lieu of a degree.\n\nMinimum four years of experience in each of the following areas:\n\nTechnical and leadership experience.\n\nExperience with VMS and/or server equipment.\n\nInstalling rack equipment, cable conveyance, and peripheral equipment.\n\nTroubleshooting and resolving issues related to server rack equipment.\n\nReading technical drawings.\n\nCollaborating with the engineering team to provide solutions to technical problems.\n\nConducting, testing, calibrating, and troubleshooting video management systems.\n\nProviding training to customers, mentoring junior technicians, and giving day‑to‑day directions to the team on site.\n\nStrong troubleshooting skills with hardware and software video management systems and network devices.\n\nProficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and a cable tester.\n\nBasic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).\n\nPerforming basic administrative tasks (daily status report, close‑out documents, timekeeping, expense reporting) promptly.\n\nWork more than 40 hours per week if needed.\n\nWork after normal duty hours depending on customer requirements.\n\nWork in drafts, loud noise, temperature variation/high heat, confined spaces, climb stairs/ladders, kneeling positions for cable layout, lift up to 50 pounds independently, and move up to 40 pounds for the majority of the shift while standing, crouching, or walking.\n\nWork during inclement weather or other adverse conditions.\n\nAdditional Desired Experience and Skills\n\nExperience with Genetec software and its modules.\n\nExperience pulling, dressing, and terminating cable using the T568B standard (preferred but not required).\n\nA current OSHA certification.\n\nA current BISCI certification.\n\nA
