In this role, you will make an impact each day by building new infrastructure via code, supporting our current infrastructure, and focusing on the stability and observability of Aptive’s internal suite of applications. You will support our engineering process, create amazing code, solve interesting puzzles, and work with a driven team that does all but the impossible.\nLocation: Remote\nCompensation: $120,000+/annually depending on experience. This includes analyzing data, managing scope, managing stakeholders, managing project tasks, risks, and views\nBuild and manage cloud infrastructure while utilizing best practices in operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization, scalability, and high availability\nSupport and enhance CI/CD pipelines\nManage logs, monitoring, alerts, and dashboards\nTrack and manage system and software patches and upgrades\nEnsure systems security and compliance with PCI, HIPAA, GDPR, etc\nDevelop tools to help software engineers deliver high-performance software efficiently\nPractice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.\nCoordinate with development leadership to determine and set reasonable\ninfrastructure service level agreements (SLAs) and service level objectives (SLOs). Routinely monitor and report on performance.\n\nQualifications:\n4-year degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent education and experience\n3+ years experience with AWS\n3+ years experience working in enterprise cloud application architecture\n\nRequired Skills:\nExperience deploying and managing public cloud Kubernetes environments with infrastructure as code. eg. AWS EKS, GCP GKE, etc.\nExperience with multiple public cloud vendors and aware of strengths and weaknesses of each\nStrong understanding of best practices in platform engineering, devops, security, and software delivery\nUnderstanding of cloud-native, serverless, and microservices architecture\nExperience using SaaS and self-hosted observability tools. E.g. Datadog, New Relic, Splunk, etc.\nStrong, demonstrable experience with Pulumi, Terraform, CDK, and other IaaC tools\nDemonstrable experience with at least one modern programming language,. e.g. Go, Typescript, Python\nAbility to effectively work across multiple environments (staging, testing, production, etc.)\nAbility to debug and effectively troubleshoot software and service/infrastructure level problems\nSelf-driven and able to work autonomously\nAbility to understand and prioritize the work to be done within the team\nExperience writing highly detailed documentation\n\nAptive Environmental:\nAptive Environmental provides pest control services to customers in 34 states across the US.
