We are seeking a Café & Program Host to join our Nutrition Team. This individual will be responsible for meal service and programming to all café guests at the assigned café. This position is located at 800 Cheshire Road in Delaware, as well as our off-site locations throughout Delaware County.\nSummary\nThe Café & Program Host will generally be scheduled a minimum of 4 hours per week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with additional hours occasionally available based on staffing needs. There is a need for flexibility to attend meetings before and after the regular assigned schedule.\nReports to: | FLSA: Part-time non-exempt position | Pay Rate: $15/hour\nReports to: Nutrition Administrative Manager\nFLSA: Part-Time, Hourly, Nonexempt\nPay: $15\nEssential Job Functions:\nCafé Oversight (60%)\nCoordinate and lead programs and activities at assigned cafés\nCreate a vibrant and welcoming environment for café guests and volunteers, offering excellent customer service\nFollow accepted safe food handling practices when serving lunch to maintain a safe and clean environment\nPrepare site for service, as well as clean up following service which includes sanitizing all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning and storing equipment, sweeping/mopping\nAssist guests with daily registration utilizing Café 55’s kiosk system\nWelcome new guests by assisting them in completing and understanding required registration forms, donations, and meal selection options\nCommunication & Collaboration (20%)\nTrain, schedule, and supervise volunteers assisting with meal service and programs\nMaintain thorough knowledge of customer eligibility for all funding sources, service availability, and all program requirements\nAdhere to all applicable Nutrition Program policies and procedures\nParticipate in department goals and initiatives collaboratively\nAttend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education programs, as required\nReporting & Recordkeeping (20%)\nMaintain accurate records that meet funding requirements\nComplete client records data entry\nMaintain appropriate inventory of supplies and equipment, completing inventory reports as required\nReceive payments and donations for meals, completing and submitting paperwork as required\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nPrevious experience as a host or in food service is strongly preferred\nPrevious experience with volunteers preferred\nPrevious experience in planning programs, activities, and or engagement opportunities is preferred\nPrevious experience handling money is preferred\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nPossess excellent communication skills and demonstrate effective oral, written, and electronic communication methods with a diverse group of individuals in a professional manner\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to be creative and deal with change and ambiguity\nDemonstrated proficiency in a wide range of software programs including Microsoft Office\nAbility to promote a positive work culture within the organization; project a positive image of the organization in the community and routinely interact with the public\nMust be willing to submit to and pass criminal background checks per agency policy\nEssential Physical Requirements/Working Conditions\nAbility to lift 30 lbs. regularly without assistance and navigate un-level terrain and stairs\nAbility to stand for long periods\nPossession of automobile insurance in an amount established by SourcePoint, valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to drive to and from work locations as needed\nThe Host is expected to be familiar with the work of others to fill in as needed temporarily.\nOther:\nIn any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities to ensure a smooth continuity of operations within the organization.
