Integrated Healthcare Services is seeking a travel Pathologists' Assistant for a travel job in Jackson, Michigan.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: Pathologists' AssistantDiscipline: Allied Health ProfessionalDuration: 9 weeks40 hours per weekShift: 8 hours, daysEmployment Type: TravelJob Summary:The Pathologist's Assistant provides services in Anatomic Pathology under the supervision of a qualified Pathologist, assisting in the preparation and performance of human post-mortem and surgical specimen examinations.Essential Functions:Prepare and perform human surgical specimen examinations, including gross description, dissection, and tissue section selection for microscopic examination (frozen, permanent, light, electron, and fluorescent microscopy).Accession specimens and ensure proper identification per surgical pathology policies.Prepare containers and tissue cassettes.Assist in resident training and credentialing, providing technical guidance and assessing competency in specimen handling.Perform gross photography of specimens and maintain related files.Handle tumor procurement for biorepository, including documentation, quality assurance, and business transactions.Contribute to quality assurance and control plans, focusing on specimen identification, frozen sections, and instrument maintenance.Manage inventory and order supplies for the frozen section room and surgical pathology lab.Select and dispose of gross tissue and extremities after report finalization.Perform autopsies, including external examination, organ inspection, evisceration, dissection, tissue section submission, and data recording.Assist with other related duties as needed.Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science Degree from a regionally accredited college/university.Completion of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologist's Assistant program or PA (ASCP) Certification.Strong customer service skills, self-direction, flexibility, teamwork, initiative, and willingness to learn.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to instruct others and embrace new learning experiences.QUALIFICATION/LICENSUREWork Authorization : US CitizenPreferred years of experience : 2 yearsTravel required : No travel requiredShift timings : DaysRightSourcing IHS Job ID #37302874.
