Civil Construction Project Manager (Concord)

Our Client is a respected California-based civil contractor with a strong presence in site development, demolition, environmental remediation, and complex earthwork projects. They are seeking a Civil Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and financial performance.This role is ideal for a hands-on project leader who thrives in the field, understands the realities of demolition and excavation work, and can confidently manage budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesLead projects from preconstruction through final completionDevelop and manage project budgets, cost forecasts, and schedulesOversee buyout, subcontract negotiations, and procurementCoordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure field execution aligns with schedule and scopeManage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentationMaintain strong communication with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agenciesEnsure strict adherence to safety and environmental compliance standardsMonitor project financials and maintain profitabilityQualifications5+ years of experience in civil construction project managementStrong experience in earthwork projects preferredExperience managing public or private site development work is a plusKnowledge of environmental compliance and regulated material handlingProficient in project management software (Procore or similar)Solid understanding of scheduling tools (MS Project or equivalent)Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneouslyStrong leadership, communication, and negotiation skillsPreferred BackgroundExperience with earthwork, grading, shoring, and underground utilitiesFamiliarity with environmental remediation or hazardous material abatementOSHA safety training certifications
