DevOps Engineer

M1 Technology is currently seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to support a team specializing in designing, engineering, implementation, development and maintenance of enterprise quality mission systems, networks, and applicationsAs a core member of the development team, you’ll help innovate, optimize, and transform the digital landscape with your technical prowess. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of software development and mission support in a fast-paced environment.Clearance Requirement : TS/SCI with PolygraphKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and manage secure CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins for continuous integration and deployment.Provision and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure in AWS using Infrastructure as Code tools, specifically Terraform.Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting systems, including Prometheus and CloudWatch, to ensure operational health and reliability.Develop and automate operational tasks and system deployments using strong scripting proficiency in Bash and Python.Administer and ensure the high availability, backup, and performance tuning of self-hosted database instances like PostgreSQL and MySQL.Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience implementing and managing Cl/CD pipelines (Jenkins required)Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform (required)Demonstrated experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, 1AM, CloudWatch, and other core servicesDemonstrated experience with containerization (such as Docker and Pod man)Strong scripting proficiency: Bash (required) and Python (required)Experience with database self-hosting including installation, configuration, backup/recovery, high availability, and performance tuning (PostgreSQL and MySQL)Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems such as Prometheus/Alertmanager and CloudWatchDemonstrated experience integrating and deploying diverse software systems: AWS cloud services, open-source applications, COTS/GOTS products, and custom applicationsStrong understanding of networking, security, 1AM policies, and AWS architecture best practicesExperience with Git-based workflows, branching strategies, and version control best practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience deploying and managing data platform components: Apache Spark, Tri no, Apache Ranger, Apache Iceberg, Apache Superset, data catalogsFamiliarity with data lakehouse architectures and supporting infrastructureExperience with secrets management solutions (AWS Secrets Manager, Parameter Store)Knowledge of disaster recovery, backup strategies, and continuity planningFamiliarity with API gateways and modern microservices patternsExperience with cost optimization practices in AWSBackground deploying and supporting Al/ML workloads or model serving infrastructureExperience mentoring team members on DevOps and cloud best practicesExperience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, etc.)Familiarity with additional monitoring tools (Grafana, ELK stack)Experience integrating customer's Enterprise servicesWhy Work at M1?Engage in meaningful, mission-oriented work with national impactCollaborate with top-tier professionals in a high-performance environmentWork on cutting-edge projects with the latest technologyEnjoy a culture of innovation, integrity, and technical excellenceM1 Technology is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
