If you are looking to join a rapidly growing company that offers a dynamic, fast-paced, solution-driven prototyping/manufacturing work environment, MATSYS is the place for you!\n\nRelocation packages will be considered on a case-by-case and as-needed basis.\n\nDescription\nPersonnel Management\nProvides direct management of the engineering team\nCommunicates short-, near-, and long-term objectives (and metrics) to the team and establishes methods of accountability\nProvide hands-on leadership, coaching, and training to enhance team skills, knowledge, and performance\nConducts performance reviews, sets goals, and provides regular feedback to team members\nPromotes a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement\n\nEngineering Management\nWorks with Operations Managers to optimize manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and cost-efficiency\nGuides R&D teams in developing new products, materials, and technologies aligned with company strategy\nPlans and executes schedules and resource needs to support customer requirements\nManages department forecasts, budgets, production schedules, and personnel plans, tracking actuals vs goals\nAnalyzes operational data, such as production costs/schedules and process flow to determine efficient utilization of resources. Utilizes data to produce operational improvements\nCollaborates with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve production challenges\nOversees prototype development, testing, and scale-up processes\nIdentifies and procures necessary tools, technologies, and equipment to support and expand production and R&D activities\nReviews engineering work products (designs, manuals, reports, etc.) for accuracy prior to submission\n\nStrategic Planning and Execution\nDevelops and executes engineering and business development strategies to meet company goals and growth targets\nWorks with Program Managers to manage project portfolios, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to high-priority initiatives\n\nCompliance and Safety\nEnsures all engineering activities comply with regulatory, safety, and environmental standards, such as sensitive information handling requirements, OSHA standards, etc.\nWorks closely with EHS to promote a culture of safety and sustainability across teams\n\nBusiness Development and Market Alignment\nDevelops and writes proposals, including technical approaches, management plans, and cost estimates\nWrites projects reports, as needed\nMaintains currency in new technologies and potential applications, applying this understanding to product and business development efforts\nAssists with initiatives to commercialize new products and technologies, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer requirements\nOccasionally represents the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance visibility and network\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRequired\nAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or a closely related engineering field\n8+ years of experience in progressively responsible (related) engineering roles\n5+ years of managerial experience\nExceptional leadership skills and experience\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Tools and knowledge of MRP systems\nWorking knowledge of 5S and Lean Manufacturing Concepts\nExperience coordinating work across various groups\nExcellent analytical, written, and verbal communication ability\nFamiliarity with industry regulations and standards related to engineering disciplines\nProficiency in project management tools and methodologies\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\n\nPreferred\nMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, or a closely related engineering field may substitute experience)\n10+ years of managerial experience\n\nWorking Conditions\nCombination of office and on-site work in production and R&D environments\nOccasional travel to client sites, supplier facilities, and industry events\n\nCompetencies\nCommitment to maintaining confidentiality is critical\nLeadership & Team Impact: Accountability, team player commitment, strategic thinking\nService Delivery: Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills & professionalism, the ability to anticipate and respond to needs, openness to change, attitude of continual improvement, strong organizational skills\nJob knowledge: Exceptional leadership and management skills, risk management, effective planning, financial literacy, strong written communication skills\nAutonomy, Judgment & Decision-Making: Prioritization & time management skills, creativity & critical problem-solving, ability to plan strategically\nCommitment to MATSYS core values and ideals:\nSafety: Safety is at the forefront of our decision-making.
