This role combines field-based interpretation (50%) and office-based follow-up support (50%) from our Program Office in Whittier.\n\nThe Interpreter ensures accurate communication between English-challenged Individuals, their families, and program staff during meetings, home visits, and ongoing service coordination. This position plays a critical role in supporting care documentation, person-centered planning, and Regional Center compliance.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nField-Based Interpretation (Approx. 50%)\nProvide in-person interpretation (English\nVietnamese/Cantonese) during:\nIntake meetings\nCare meetings\nHome visits\nCase management discussions\nThird party program assistance - on-site\nInterpret sensitive discussions regarding services, behavioral supports, and medical updates\nMaintain neutrality, accuracy, and confidentiality\n\nProgram Office Responsibilities (Approx. 50%)\nConduct follow-up calls to families regarding Individual status and service updates\nGather information for care documentation and case notes\nAssist with reading and explaining written correspondence in Chinese dialects\nSupport program staff in ensuring accurate and complete documentation\n\nWhat Distinguishes You\nQualifications\n✔ Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in the social services sector and/or professional interpretation experience in community, healthcare, or human services settings.\n✔ Fluency in Vietnamese and/or Cantonese (spoken) required\n✔ Professional English proficiency\n✔ Ability to read Chinese dialects for correspondence support\n✔ Must have reliable transportation to travel to field assignments\n\nWhy This Role Matters\nEffective communication is essential to person-centered services.
