As a Driller, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and machinery to dig and build various structures. This position requires strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work in the Utility Industry.\nResponsibilities:\nOperates equipments safely and effciently to enusre locates are correct\nCommunicate problems to the attention of the Foreman, Supervisor, Safety Coordinator, or HR.\nFollow daily procedures and protocols set forth in job orientations and trainings.\nConduct regular maintenance and repairs on drilling machinery, and refer defects or needed repairs to supervisor.\nFollow safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations when operating equipment.\nAbility to operate Ditch Witch and Vermeer horintal direction drills\nAbility to operate digitrack locating systems- F-2, F-5 and F-5 Flacon\nAbility to operate Hydraulic Hoe pack, Upright compactor, Air compressors, etc.\nCollaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently\nMaintain accurate records of drilling operations\nAssists laborers with hand digging and potholing when needed\nQualifications:\nOperators must have good eyesight and better than average coordination to operate both hand and foot levers simultaneously.\nMust have good judgement to perform complicated tasks and must be able to work closely with other crafts without constant supervision.\n2+ years’ experience operating equipment in the underground utility field.\n2 + year’s industry experience (i.e., underground utility construction)\nExcellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately\nAbility to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in various weather conditions\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record\nClass A CDL Driver's License, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.\nHigh School Diploma and/or equivalent.\nSkills:\nAbility to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.\nHeavy equipment operation: Proficiency in operating various types of heavy machinery.\nDigging: Experience in using drilling equipment to dig holes for various purposes\nHorizontal drilling: Familiarity with horizontal drilling techniques used in pipeline installations\nAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.\nAbility to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.\nAbility to work from construction specifications or blueprints.\nWorking Conditions / Enviroment:\nThis position operates in a field enviroment. The role routinely rquires the ability to work in a cariety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting, twisting, pushing, pulling, and kneeling.\nThis position is labor intensive, with lifting required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Regular exposure to all weather conditions, especially hot, humid and/ or rainy spring, summer, and fall weather.\nAssume responsibility for work outcomes and results of other workers. May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels on sites of projects being managed or coordinated.
