DescriptionREACH Health Services of the Institutes for Behavior Resources, Inc. (IBR), seeks a FULL-TIME ADDICTIONS COUNSELOR to join its team. This is your opportunity to be part of a dedicated team delivering critical health programs and resources to a diverse Baltimore-based clientele in a trauma informed environment.Primary Responsibilities IncludeProviding compassionate individual and group counseling, and case management for individuals with substance use disordersConducting comprehensive assessments and developing personalized treatment plans that support recovery goalsDelivering evidence-based, trauma-informed, and harm reduction–focused careMonitoring progress and maintaining accurate, timely documentation to support quality careEmpowering patients through recovery-focused education and whole-person health awarenessCoordinating care by connecting patients to internal services and community resourcesSupporting access to care by managing insurance authorizations and funding requirementsPromoting patient safety by monitoring impairment and conducting screenings as neededFacilitating groups and contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered clinic environmentActively participating in treatment team meetings, supervision, and program initiativesUpholding patient rights, confidentiality (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2), and organizational values in all interactionsWork ScheduleThis is a full-time position working on-site Monday through Friday.Pay & BenefitsIn compliance with Maryland's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, IBR is committed to providing transparent wage information for all posted job opportunities. As a STAR LPR approved facility, we offer a student loan repayment program opportunity.RequirementsEducation and Experience:Current certification in good standing with the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors in one of the following categories: Alcohol and Drug Trainee (ADT), Certified Supervised Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CSC-AD), Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD), Licensed Graduate Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LGADC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC); orCurrent licensure in good standing with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners in one of the following categories: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Certified Social Worker -Clinical (LCSW-C)Strong knowledge of substance use disorder diagnostics (DSM-5, ASAM) and evidence-based treatment approaches.Understanding of regulatory requirements, including confidentiality, research standards, and medication-assisted treatment.Familiarity with community resources and support systems for patient care.Other RequirementsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including medical terminology.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build ethical, therapeutic relationships.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen as required by regulatory agencies.All IBR/REACH employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.IBR is an Equal Opportunity employer of qualified individuals and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
