As a member of our sensor algorithms team you will create and implement cutting edge sensor-based algorithms that help people beat yesterday. This team’s work spans across multiple Garmin products and includes features such as activity monitoring, sports metrics, elevation-based features, and safety features.\nResponsibilities:\nEssential Functions\nDevelop innovative algorithms that utilize sensors, including accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and barometric pressure sensors.\nImplement embedded software solutions, primarily in C++ and C, to be used throughout Garmin’s extensive ecosystem of consumer electronics products, including smartwatches, cycling computers, and more.\nCollaborate with team members and project stakeholders in carrying out development plans.\nParticipate in peer code reviews and software design reviews.\nCoordinate closely with team members and product team engineers across Garmin to integrate and maintain algorithm solutions that serve our customers.\nPerform significant mathematical, statistical, and data analysis as part of the algorithm development process.\nEvaluate and understand various design tradeoffs including power consumption, cost, system constraints, reliability, and time to market.\nQualifications:\nBasic Qualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, Physics or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience\nExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)\nDemonstrated knowledge, education, experience and/or training necessary to develop basic software in C, C++, C#, Java, assembly language, or other selected languages\nDesired Qualifications\nOutstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)\nPrevious work or internship experience in design, particularly for consumer products\n\nGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
