As a Software Services Project Manager, you will lead customer engagements from the first conversation through deployment, adoption, and expansion. You will bring clarity to complex work, keep the team and the customer aligned, and make sure that what we promise, plan, and deliver stay in sync. You do not need to be the technical expert on the room — you need to be the person who makes it possible for everyone else to do their best work.\n\nWe are looking for project managers who lead with communication, organization, and empathy; who can hold a schedule and a difficult conversation at the same time; and who are genuinely curious about the technical work happening around them. We will teach you Blueframe, DTS, and the shape of our engagements. You bring the discipline and the customer instincts.\n\nWhat to Expect\n\nThis is a strategic new team at SEL, and this role sits at the heart of it. Expect visibility, direct customer relationships, meaningful collaboration with engineers and leaders, and the chance to help design how Software Services runs.\n\nYou'll own the customer relationship on delivery. You'll be the person the customer counts on to know where things stand, what's coming next, and what they need to do to be ready.\n\nYou'll lead our engagement lifecycle. From kickoff and planning through validation, go-live, and adoption checkpoints, you'll keep the plan honest and the team focused on customer outcomes.\n\nYou'll partner closely with engineers. You do not need to be a technical architect — you need to be a great teammate to the people who are, and comfortable asking the questions that move the work forward.\n\nYou'll shape how Software Services works. Templates, playbooks, dashboards, reporting rhythms, KPI reviews, and reusable practices are being built right now, and this role is part of that.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nLead customer engagements from planning through deployment, validation, adoption, and handoff.\nOwn the engagement's schedule, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions, and communications.\nServe as the customer's primary point of contact for engagement delivery and progress.\nFacilitate alignment across customer stakeholders — operations, IT/OT, cybersecurity, compliance, engineering, and leadership — without needing to be the technical expert.\nCoordinate work across Software Services engineers, Engineering Services, Sales, Technical Support, Product Engineering, and R&D.\nKeep scope clear. When new needs come up, help decide together how to handle them.\nMaintain the artifacts that make delivery visible: schedules, status updates, risk logs, decisions, and customer-facing summaries.\nContribute to reusable engagement patterns — playbooks, templates, dashboards, checklists, and lessons learned — that make the next engagement better.\nSupport KPI tracking and reporting so that leadership, customers, and the team can see how engagements are performing.\nPartner with Sales and Account Management on expansion conversations and adoption success.\nMentor teammates and grow with the team as Software Services grows.\nUnderstand. Create. Simplify.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRequired Qualifications and Experience\n\nThree or more years of project management, program coordination, or delivery leadership experience.\n\nProven ability to lead schedules, risks, dependencies, and communications for projects with multiple stakeholders.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills — comfortable talking with engineers, customers, and executives in the same week.\n\nComfort working across ambiguity and helping teams find clarity.\n\nWillingness to learn the technical domain (Blueframe, Software Services practices, utility/industrial operations) at a level that lets you ask good questions and make good decisions.\n\nComfort coordinating technical work without needing to personally perform it.\n\nPreferred Qualifications and Experience\n\nPMP, CSM, SAFe, or comparable project or program management training.\n\nExperience with software deployment, systems integration, or technical program management.\n\nExposure to utility, industrial, critical infrastructure, or OT-adjacent work.\n\nExperience running FATs, SATs, pilots, or structured customer readiness activities.\n\nExperience preparing executive summaries, adoption reports, KPI reviews, or business scorecards.\n\nFamiliarity with tools such as project management platforms, Microsoft 365, or collaboration and reporting tools.\n\nYou do not need most of these to apply. Communication, organization, and curiosity carry the most weight.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n\nAbility to translate customer goals into a clear plan the team can execute.\n\nAbility to lead people, meetings, and decisions with structure and empathy.\n\nAbility to hold a difficult conversation professionally and constructively.\n\nAbility to identify and communicate risk before it becomes a problem.\n\nAbility to write clearly and concisely — the kind of writing that saves everyone time.\n\nCompetitive pay. Superior benefits. Inspiring work.\n\nPeople are at the core of our company and we hire employee-owners. We welcome you to learn more about how we support employees.\n\nWe’re 100% employee owned. Retirement benefits include an employer funded stock ownership plan (ESOP) and personal 401(k) options.\nWe offer top tier medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.\nWe recognize the importance of a healthy life balance and offer: 10 paid holidays, annual vacation accrual starting at 12 days, 9 paid sick days, and paid family and medical leave that covers 90% of your pay.\nWe foster growth and development of our employees through avenues such as STEM courses, apprenticeships, tuition assistance, and engineering development programs.\nAsk our team about other benefits including wellness, fertility, adoption, and flexible spending benefits.\n\nOpen to other SEL office locations, provided there is space available\n\nProject Manager II: $39.00 - $59.00 per hour\n\nProject Manager III: $88,400 - $132,700 annually\n\nWe are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience, and with or without an engineering degree, and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.\n\nCommunication with Applicants\n\nWe communicate with all applicants.
