Transporter Driver
About this role:
RFK Racing is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated Transportation Driver. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of following appropriate safety procedures for transporting equipment and knowledge of related laws and regulations related to operating commercial vehicles. The ideal candidate would have experience in checking to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency equipment were working properly prior to departure, securing cargo for transport, and reading and interpreting maps to determine appropriate routes. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, flexible work schedule, and the ability to travel extensively. The candidate will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, stocking and loading the hauler, safely transporting race cars to events and tests, and collaborating with other drivers and team members to ensure that the race car arrives safely and in a timely manner.
You will be responsible for:
Loads the hauler for departure preparation
Arrives to track, and begins preliminary set-up of the garage including unloading the toolbox weighing 3000+ pounds
Responsible for garage set-up prior to Road Crew arrival
Preps area around hauler with supplies and tools
Prepares and sets up the observation platform prior to the race. Each part of the observation deck weighs 25-50 pounds per piece, including side railings, decking and ladder.
Breaks down and reloads the observation tour at the end of the race. Each part of the observation deck weighs 25-50 pounds per piece, including side railings, decking and ladder.
Responsible for maintaining the team coolers during pre-race and race events
Assists the tire specialist with relocating and stacking tires for pre-race and race event. Tires average 70+ pounds per tire. Tires are typically moved 4 at a time with a tire buggy.
Maintain cleanliness of the hauler interior & exterior, including vacuuming, wiping off counters, and organizing tools and other items left on the counters
Begins pre-loading the hauler during the race event
Breaks down toolboxes and related items and loads the hauler following the race in preparation for departure
Drives the company vehicle, transporting company property, safely to events and tests across the country
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods
Safely secure cargo for transport
Provides support to the road crew at the track as needed
Maintain driver logs of working hours, as well as perform and document pre-trip and post trip inspections
Manage transporter emergency situations, including but not limited to, flat tires, mechanical failures, etc.
Report accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to Supervisor as soon as possible
Collaborate with other drivers as part of a driving team on some trips
Manage petty cash and bank receipts related to work related travel
Responsible for ensuring transporter falls within DOT standards for service and compliance
This position is onsite, located at our headquarters in Concord, NC with a typical work schedule of Monday through Friday, including travel.

Must possess a valid and current Class A Commercial Drivers License and current DOL Health Certification
Minimum of two years previous experience as an over-the-road driver
Must be 25 years of age or older
Must be willing and capable of complying with all laws and regulations related to operating commercial vehicles
Prior ELOG experience preferred
Must be willing to travel extensively, work a flexible work schedule, and work on short notice
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with others
Must be a team player and have a high level of integrity
Preferred truck driving experience within the racing or entertainment industry
