The yield projects include improvement of existing processes and projects related to the development of byproducts. Additionally this position is responsible for conducting plant audits and is involved in the daily operational activities and needs for each plant area as it relates to assigned projects. The Process Engineer III also supports training and familiarization of new processes and procedures to SGI’s operating plants.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES Execute duties in an efficient and safe manner\nExecute projects related to cost savings\nCalculate cost savings potential\nExecute projects related to plant capacity improvement\nExecute projects related to yield improvement\nWork with in house R&D on new product development\nDirect testing at vendor locations\nDefine equipment and process specifications for new products\nDefine scope and process flow related to new products\nInput and review of engineering design plans\nProvide start up assistance to new processes or changes to processes\nConduct annual Coloring Plant audits including improvement recommendations and reporting\nProvide support to plants on technical issues and/or questions\nMaintenance of Process Flow Diagrams\nPerform other duties as assigned\nCompetencies Adaptability\nCommunication\nDecision Making\nEmotional Intelligence\nFacilitating Change\nFollow‑Up\nInfluencing Others\nInnovative Thinking\nJudgment\nPlanning and Organizing\nProblem / Opportunity Analysis\nLeading Teams\nTechnical knowledge/skills in Mineral Processing including crushing/screening (intermediate knowledge)\nCoatings application process (entry knowledge)\nProject Management, Planning, and Scheduling (entry to intermediate knowledge)\nMaterial handling (entry to intermediate knowledge)\nEngineering / equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge)\nAutoCAD preferred, not required\nComputer (intermediate knowledge)\nMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) (intermediate knowledge)\nGoogle (G‑Suite) (intermediate knowledge)\nAnalytical and problem solving skills (intermediate knowledge)\nLeadership/Supervision: Must have the ability to lead a team and work well in difficult and time‑pressure situations\nEducation / Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 5+ years industrial/manufacturing process engineering experience, preferably mineral processing.\nMust be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer‑sponsored visa.\nPhysical Requirements Computer, ability to make oral presentations\nLifting objects up to 50 lbs.\nStanding or sitting for extended periods\nExtended or irregular hours\nBending, climbing, kneeling, stooping, walking on uneven terrain\nMust be able to wear all required personal protective equipment and work outdoors in temperature extremes\nWork Conditions Office, travel, and outdoors/indoors within a Process Plant and Mine environment.\nTravel: 30–50% domestically.\nEEO Statement SGI is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
