The position is accountable for project financial performance, proactive risk management, and fostering long-term client relationships by consistently delivering results.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Primary Responsibilities):\nProgram Leadership\nServe as the primary client interface throughout program execution, maintaining effective communication and professional relationships.\nManage programs from initiation through closure, including planning, feasibility, development, verification and transfer phases.\nLead cross-functional teams spanning R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations.\nAbility to navigate complex environments and manage diverse groups of stakeholders, ensuring alignment internally and with the client.\nEstablish and facilitate project kickoff, phase-gate reviews, design reviews, and client and internal status meetings.\nProgram & Financial Management\nDevelop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and deliverables, with clear milestones and dependencies.\nMonitor scope, schedule, and resources, escalating issues and developing contingency plans as needed.\nReport program status, financial performance, risks, and opportunities to executive management and clients with transparency.\nOwn program’s financial performance, including revenue, gross margin, change order management, and cash flow.\nDevelop and analyze monthly forecasts ensuring target accuracy is obtained. Proactively communicate risks and apply lessons learned to future forecast periods to improve accuracy.\nCompliance & Risk Management\nEnsure project execution in alignment with company Quality Management System (QMS), design controls, and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO).\nParticipate in client and regulatory audits as a program representative.\nIdentify and actively manage risks and opportunities, implementing response plans and mitigations proactively.\nClient Engagement\nProvide clear, proactive communication to clients regarding technical progress, schedule, budget, risks, and mitigations.\nMaintain client satisfaction by delivering commitments according to agreed upon success criteria. Build trust through transparency and accountability.\nCollaborate with Business Development to ensure continuity between sales objectives and program execution, supporting scope and budget change discussions as needed.\nSupport Business Development with scoping new client projects regarding technical requirements, assumptions, deliverables, schedule, resources, and budget, as needed.\nContinuous Improvement\nContributing to success of the PMO by going beyond execution into recognizing patterns, improving processes, and sharing best practices.\nDrive standardization of tools and processes, using metrics to measure impact to guide improvement.\nIncorporate post-mortems and feedback into future planning to strengthen program execution.\nEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, life sciences, or related field (advanced degree a plus).\nPMP certification highly preferred.\nExperience:\n10+ years of program/project management experience in a CDMO, medical device, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environment.\nEssential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nDemonstrated leadership skills.\nKnowledge of standard Project Management processes and methods.\nAbility to “get things done” in a growing organization – willingness to fill gaps and wear multiple hats.\nUnderstanding of product development and manufacturing for regulated medical products.\nAbility to create and manage complex schedules with detailed work breakdown structures.\nAbility to create and manage program budgets.\nExcellent interpersonal skills for collaboration and teamwork (internally and with clients).\nExcellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral).\nAbility to listen, hear, and accurately assess what is being said (by engineers and clients).\nAbility to predict key business risk areas and determine mitigation steps.\nAbility to assess complex situations, ask insightful questions, and determine the best path forward (often with incomplete data).\nAbility and willingness to have challenging program conversations with clients and/or employees when required (in a timely and professional manner).\nAbility to produce high quality Power Point presentations for Phase Gate Reviews and client presentations.\nAbility to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.\nKnowledge of NPI processes, complexities, and best practices.\nPositive attitude with the ability to motivate and inspire the best in others.\nJob Complexity:\nWorks independently on highly complex issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of client needs, company capabilities, risk factors, and program trade-offs.
