For over 60 years PSS has performed vital and important work -- through its ten centers, and affiliated programs, the agency touches the lives of over 2,000 people a day. As a Program Aide at one of our senior centers you will be responsible for serving meals to center members, following food safety standards and guidelines, and assisting in programming to keep our members healthy, engaged and connected. This role is crucial to the health and wellness of our members.\r\nThis position reports to the Program Director.\r\nResponsibilities:Serve meals to center members.\r\nPrepare food to be served.\r\nFollow safety guidelines for food handling and service.\r\nCreating and posting menus.\r\nCleaning of equipment and work surfaces.\r\nAssist Center Program Coordinator with programming.\r\nEngaging with members.\r\nFacilitating group workshops.\r\nPromoting center activities.\r\nLocations changes may occur if coverage is needed at another OAC or the OAC is closed temporarily.\r\nOccasional weekends, holidays and evening hours may be required, this includes Cooling Center hours during the summer months\r\nAdditional duties as assigned.\r\nQualifications and Experience:Experience working with Older Adults preferred\r\nExcellent Interpersonal and Organizational Skills\r\nStrong computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office\r\nExcellent communication skills (written and oral)\r\nMust be able to manually move, pull, carry, push or lift heavy objects or materials (25-60lbs).\r\nMust be able to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, sit and reach.\r\nPhysical stamina is required with the ability to lift heavy objects and work for long periods while standing\r\nExperience working with Older Adults preferred\r\nExcellent Interpersonal Skills\r\nProfessionalism and Other Qualities:Ability to work well independently and on a team\r\nMaturity and good judgment in relating to peers, partners, and families\r\nAbility to work with people from diverse backgrounds\r\nAvailability, dependability, and willingness to be flexible\r\nDemonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically\r\nDemonstrated ability to solve problems and think strategically.\r\nEEOC and DEI Statement:\r\nAt PSS we are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other legally protected status.
