Hiring for this position is dependent upon ISI being awarded this contract following a successful proposal.\n\nISI is seeking full-time onsite Construction Manager-Mechanical Engineers to provide Owner’s Representation services for a potential future opportunity supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, for the EHRM Infrastructure Upgrades and Data Center Construction project.\n\nThe project is expected to include construction of a new mission-critical data center; construction, renovation, and upgrades to nearly 60 telecommunications rooms; campus-wide Cat 6a cabling and redundant fiber-optic backbone improvements; underground telecommunications duct banks; and supporting electrical, HVAC, emergency power, fire protection, physical security, and other building-system work. Construction will occur within an active medical center and will require carefully phased work, coordination of room closures and utility shutdowns, and some off-hours activities.\n\nThe Construction Manager-Mechanical Engineers will provide full-time onsite construction-phase oversight aligned with contractor operations and VA facility requirements. This is an anticipated future position subject to availability of funds, and the actual start date has not yet been established. ISI is engaging qualified candidates in advance so the project team can be prepared when the schedule is confirmed; applicants who advance will be kept informed as procurement and funding milestones develop.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nProvide construction-phase oversight support\n\nConduct daily onsite construction inspections\n\nTrack and monitor submittals and RFIs\n\nReview submittals and provide written recommendations\n\nReview RFIs and provide technical input prior to COR deadlines\n\nMonitor construction schedule and progress\n\nReview and validate contractor pay applications\n\nDocument deficiencies and track corrective actions\n\nMonitor long-lead procurement items\n\nSupport development of FORCE packages\n\nMaintain project tracking reports\n\nParticipate in bi-weekly and other project meetings\n\nCoordinate with VA COR and Healthcare Engineer\n\nPrepare and submit daily and weekly inspection documentation\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nEducation and Experience:\n\nFour (4) year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline\n\nAND\n\nMinimum six (6) years of professional engineering or construction management experience\n\nOR\n\nFifteen (15) years of directly related construction management experience in lieu of degree. Minimum seven (7) years of experience managing facility mechanical construction projects including design oversight, schedule management, cost control, and construction administration\n\nPreferred Experience:\n\nFederal construction experience (VA strongly preferred)\n\nHealthcare construction experience\n\nExperience supporting IT / telecommunications / infrastructure upgrades\n\nFamiliarity with building codes and permitting requirements\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nMust be a U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, OR non-U.S. citizens lawfully authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, AND have at least three (3) years of U.S. residency\n\nAbility to work full-time onsite in Gainesville, FL\n\nMust provide own PPE\n\nAbility to work independently in an active medical facility\n\nWork Schedule and Environment\n\nFull-time onsite at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center.\n\nApproximately 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, aligned with VA operating hours.
