You make cross-functional contributions to energy optimization, and will be responsible for advancing software solutions and analytics to support the clean-tech power revolution. Your strong analytical skills and ability to develop innovative problem-solving solutions will support mission critical decision analytics for renewable and battery storage power providers around the globe.\nJob Responsibilities\nSolve complex analytic problems to make mission critical decisions for energy supply by:\nTranslating requirements into model formulation\nImplementing forecasting and optimization models for operation and valuation of renewable resources and battery storage\nDeveloping both prototype models and production software\nSupporting existing commercial software and production systems\nOptimization techniques including: computational stochastic optimization, decision making under uncertainty, simulating high penetrations of wind and solar energy, optimizing generation under uncertainty, unit dispatch and transmission modeling, modeling of hydroelectric storage systems, and planning and control of electric battery storage.\nRequired Qualifications\nMaster's in electrical engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related disciplines\n1+ year experience in an energy optimization focused role in industry or academics\n1+ year of general Software Development experience\nOptimization methods and commercial solvers (e.g., GAMS, Goroubi, CPLEX, Xpress)\nAbility to communicate with impact and confidence, both verbally and in writing\nStrong interpersonal skills, teamwork skills, and work ethic\nPreferred Qualifications\nPhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Power Systems, or related disciplines.\nFamiliarity with relational database platforms (Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres)\nInterest in learning about and deploying novel software solutions\nPrior knowledge of, or strong interest in learning about wholesale electricity markets\nPython and relevant libraries (e.g., NumPy, Pandas, SciPy)\nCompensation: $100,000 - $150,000\nNegotiable based on qualifications and experience.
