Maintain deployment of multiple software baselines with custom Virtual Machine (VM) and container configurations development, testing, and deployment activities. Ensure the DevOps environment facilitates designing, implementing, deploying, and executing automated tests, and investigating new technologies to continually improve DevOps processes. Collect, process, and present build, network, security, performance, and other information and metrics to show automation improvements or degradations over time. Balance hybrid cloud distribution between private corporate infrastructure and public clouds.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nAbility to perform many duties involving DevOps functions including, but not limited to, authoring and maintaining automation deployment and monitoring scripts, researching, implementing and maintaining Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI-CD) tools and processes, automating application deployments, managing virtualized and containerized assets, creating virtual and physical network configurations, servers, communications, and test and developer engineering support.\r\nMust be able to author and maintain scripts in a variety of languages. Work products must be configuration managed.\r\nAnalyze real world problems and implement solutions according to corporate guidelines and procedures, DoD DevOps guidance, and industry best practices.\r\nAssures system stability, accessibility, and proper configuration of assigned technical systems and components.\r\nSupport the implementation and operation of a fully automated CI-CD pipeline that leverages enterprise container and virtualization platforms.\r\nMonitor, maintain, install, and support networked virtual machines, containers and software applications.\r\nAssist software developers, integration, and test engineers to best utilize DevOps capabilities.\r\nTrouble-shoot capabilities to diagnose system problems.\r\nUtilize an enterprise software development ticketing system to plan and track work.\r\nRequired Experience/Qualifications\r\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university.\r\nIAT Level II or greater. Security+, CISSP or other equivalent certification within six months of date of hire.\r\nSecurity+ certification required within 6 months of date of hire.\r\nUnderstanding of commercial DevOps tools and processes.\r\nUse scripting languages for automation, administration, data collection and reporting. This job requires the ability to write, test, debug, deploy, and sustain scripts.\r\nConfiguration manage, version control, and backup various scripts and work products created to execute and maintain the environment.\r\nPrioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands.\r\nLead small projects to research and/or implement new technologies.\r\nEffective interpersonal and communications skills.\r\nProfessionally convey system-wide performance information routinely via tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Jira, Confluence, etc.\r\nTrain others to perform similar DevOps and automation tasks. Support a corporate library of knowledge by maintaining and evangelizing content.\r\nInteract with developers to understand software changes that will impact development and testing activities, examine any relevant change implementation, then report the changes to developers and testers welcoming feedback for future improvements.\r\nSolving technical problems involving a variety of integrated software and hardware platforms.\r\nExcellent communications skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.\r\nPreferred Experience/Qualifications\r\nThree years of work experience preferred.\r\nAdditional certificatios a definite plus or working towards a certification(s).\r\nExperience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA, etc.), Jenkins Pipelines, Puppet, JFrog Artifactory, Git, Harbor, Kustomize.\r\nExperience with private and hybrid cloud design/operation/monitoring/deployment:\r\nVMware vCenter and ESXi, generally maintained at the most current version.\r\nKnowledge of or ability to learn Kubernetes and Docker.\r\nKnowledge of or ability to learn OpenShift.\r\nKnowledge of or ability to learn Ansible to automate deployment and destruction of virtual machine, network, and other virtualized assets in VMware environments.\r\nAbility to design and implement self-service portals for conducting DevOps or IT related activities.\r\nPrior or current experience with Agile development processes.\r\nSpecial Requirements/Security Clearance\r\nPlease note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires U.
