rights.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nMV Transportation is seeking a Dispatch Manager who will provide direction to and maintain two-way communications with all dispatchers, road supervisors and operations supervisors while monitoring system performance and making adjustments where necessary to maximize on-time performance, minimize customer wait times for on-call or will-call services, minimize service disruptions as a result of vehicle or operator availability or emergency situations.\r\nJob Responsibilities\r\n\r\nThe company vision, values and culture are understood, communicated and positively promoted.\r\nSet positive example for dispatch agents by providing consistent support and positive leadership.\r\nResponsible for positive employee morale and quality customer service.\r\nProactively assess staffing needs as determined by service hours and peak call periods.\r\nDefine and publish staff schedules based on service demand and in accordance with collective agreements.\r\nRecruit, interview and select employees in compliance with MVT hiring practices and minimum standards of qualification.\r\nRecommend personnel for promotion, demotion or reclassification.\r\nEnsure prompt investigation and resolution of complaints and incidents as relates to direct reports and in compliance with company policy and collective agreement.\r\nImpose discipline according to company policy and in compliance with collective agreements including suspension or termination of employment.\r\nParticipate in and advise senior management regarding labor relations strategies and relationships.\r\nRespect and maintain the confidentiality of all employee records, business records, client and customer information, data and other information not otherwise available to the public.\r\nEnsures all safety regulations are being observed and all training methods are adequate and effective.\r\nEnsure dispatch protocols follow both client and company policies and procedures.\r\nOrganize and coordinate dispatch agent training programs for new hires and refresher customer service training programs for department personnel.\r\nPrepares, verifies, and authorizes employee schedules and work records for payroll purposes.\r\nAssigns work duties to qualified employees to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts.\r\nMonitor dispatch performance as it relates to driver incidents, equipment failure, vehicle breakdowns, and other potential service disruptions.\r\nMonitor dispatch agents to ensure timely communication of passenger cancellations or changes as required.\r\nProvides dispatch coverage during peak service times and during employee shortages\r\nEnsure dispatchers assign will-call and same day trips to available and appropriate. vehicles in order to ensure on-time performance, minimize wait and ride times and to maintain system productivity.\r\nEnsure dispatchers document accurately and appropriately daily events related to service.\r\nManage vehicle pull-outs according to schedule and/or customer expectations.\r\nMaximize wage to revenue percentages and minimize non-revenue and overtime wages.\r\nDefine and publish driver schedules based on service demand and in accordance with collective agreements.\r\nMaintain a safe work area and a focus on safety to reduce the opportunity for injury to self or other employees.\r\nMaintain accurate records and appropriate filing systems.\r\nSupervises Drivers and Window Dispatch staff.\r\nMonitors operations daily.\r\nReviews staff schedules and daily manifests for efficiency and operational performance.\r\nCreates reports and compiles all necessary documentation both current and historical relating to operational issues.\r\nCounsel/coach Drivers and Dispatchers as required. Enforce the procedures and policies delineated in the Employee Handbook, CBA, and local division procedures.\r\nRespond to client requests.\r\nInterface with other division personnel to insure the achievement of division goals.\r\nAny other duties assigned\r\n\r\nQualifications\r\nTalent Requirements\r\n\r\nThree (3) years supervisory or management experience in the transportation industry.  Supervisory experience of a work group in a different industry may be substituted at the company's sole discretion.\r\nSubstantial experience in the operation phases of a transit organization.\r\nExcellent customer service skills.\r\nMust have a strong working knowledge of Trapeze and the skills to resolve situational challenges.\r\nMust work effectively with fellow employees and have strong leadership characteristics.\r\nMust have good time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.\r\nRequires flexible hours, including long days and weekends.\r\nMust have the ability to recruit and develop staff to deliver reliable service product.\r\nKnowledge of service area and system parameters.\r\nProficient in Microsoft Office software.\r\nDemonstrated ability to manage with a \"Safety First\" attitude.\r\nParatransit experience preferred.\r\n\r\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\r\n\r\nKnowledge of windows-based computer operating systems and functional knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.\r\nStrong organizational skills, filing and file maintenance.\r\nAbility to read, write and speak English.\r\nAbility to communicate effectively at all levels.\r\nAble to use multi-line phone system.\r\nAbility to handle multiple tasks accurately and effectively.\r\nAbility to work independently
